Has anyone let their younger kids do Duolingo?

My youngest wanted to do Japanese after she saw me doing on a refresher on Spanish, except she's doing Japanese in school, so I said absolutely not.

She has to learn at the same pace and style of her class.

But it looked like a game to her and she loves online games, so I let her do Mandarin.

She got so frustrated with the characters, and was almost throwing fits. So I made her finish her level lesson (took 3 days...lol), and she asked for Spanish.

She's blitzing Spanish! She's getting the hang of certain words or phrases I couldn't in high school.

I haven't hardly helped her, instead asking her questions about her questions.

This App is a game foremost but kids are sponges.

Old Hernan's first language is Ukrainian even though I was born in Canada. The old lady speaks fluent Russian. We often speak in Russian at home.
