The Dorchester Historical Society has apologized for an invite that backfired.



The invitation for their annual "Holiday Open House" was titled "We're dreaming of a white Dorchester."



They say they were just making a play on the words of the song "White Christmas" and did not mean to imply that others would be left out.



"We are very truly sorry about our graphic used for this event. This was an unfortunate oversight on our part and the event photograph has been removed from our social media. We were simply changing the words to the classic Christmas carol and did not think it through properly," the society tweeted.



"Thank you for alerting us to this matter as we certainly do not want to project that message, even if completely accidentally. Again, thank you."



The title of the online invitation now says, "May your Dorchester days be merry and bright."

When whites are minorities in all cities and towns, we should make sure an all-white 'Christmas Town' still exists for tourists.  Perhaps this all-white Christmas Town could be located in Germany, as they take Christmas seriously enough.  It would be a wonderful place full of Christmas lights, sounds, and all white people.



Tourists could visit from all around the world to see how white people once lived, and marvel at all the white sights and sounds that surround them!

Just a few days ago I saw the song White Christmas was on the school song list.  And I joked to my wife that I was surprised that anyone was allowed to perform that song.  



And now the joke becomes reality.  its impossible to satire this stuff anymore.   Progs have become so insane it's impossible to make up anything so absurd that they won't actually do it somewhere.

To be fair, that does seem a little ill conceived and riddled with an obvious, if mistaken, innuendo.



That someone failed to see the accidental double meaning and change it seems somewhat irresponsible.

I have to respectfully disagree.  I think the complainers (PC puritans) should have known that nothing racial was intended.  In fact they probably DO know that, but they don't care.  They were looking for something to become hysterical over and a chance to bully someone into submission. And sadly the Dorchester cowards rewarded them for it.

I accept nothing racial was intended. But in this period of delicacy and sensitivity, it seems hard to accept that someone in that organisation did not say "Hang on...that might be open to misinterpretation"...and simply add the word "snow".



On the other hand...meh...who cares.

I get what you're saying Brick.  We do have to be aware of the times we live in even if what is being done is wrong.  I told both of my kids don't tell any racial jokes at school, and never put anything -racial jokes opinions, whatever on social media like facebook or text them, because in this day and age even innocent, completely unintended, slights can get you in serious trouble.
