Quote from: "Wazzzup"Quote from: "Bricktop"I disagree. I think the complainers (PC puritans) should have known that nothing racial was intended. In fact they probably do know that, but they don't care. They were looking for something to become hysterical over and a chance to bully someone into submission. And sadly the Dorchester cowards rewarded them for it.Quote from: "Wazzzup"

I accept nothing racial was intended. But in this period of delicacy and sensitivity, it seems hard to accept that someone in that organisation did not say "Hang on...that might be open to misinterpretation"...and simply add the word "snow".
On the other hand...meh...who cares.
I get what you're saying Brick. We do have to be aware of the times we live in even if what is being done is wrong. I told both of my kids don't tell any racial jokes at school, and never put anything -racial jokes opinions, whatever on social media like facebook or text them, because in this day and age even innocent, completely unintended, slights can get you in serious trouble.
I think some of this got lost through our cultural differences. Most in the US knows that white Christmas refers to the American old song , see below, maybe in AUS this is not as obvious???
Most of the opposition I've seen to Christmas is about the Nativity scene and not something secular about a snowy or white Christmas.
