Lee Kuan Yew ranks as one of the most successful statesmen of the 20th century, having led Singapore to independence, and built a thriving prosperous mini-state with a world class economy, out of an ethnically diverse population. He retired as the world's longest serving prime minister, and at 87 years of age, has little to lose in speaking his mind.

Thus, his candor in discussing the assimilation of Muslims is perhaps understandable, but still startling in a world of political correctness and compulsory sensitivity to Muslims, who are never expected to reciprocate. Singapore has a substantial Muslim minority, mostly Malays but also some Indian Muslims. Throughout its history, Singapore has striven to keep ethnic tensions minimized among its diverse population (ethnic Chinese being the largest group [74%], followed by Malays[13%], Indians, and others -- including many westerners).

My country is 20 per cent Muslim. We have become sensitive to them yet Islam has made no effort to reciprocate.

Lee Kuan Yew Calls Islam a "Venomous Religion"

In 2005, Lee Kuan Yew called Islam a "venomous religion" according to Wikileaks-leaked US diplomatic cables leaked in August 2011. "I did not say that," Lee said. Lee had previously angered Malaysians with his remarks about Muslim Malays in his book "Hard Truths."

According to the cable which released after a meeting in July 2005 between Hillary Clinton, at the time a US Senator from New York State, and Congressman Charles Rangel with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, then-Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, and then-Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew (MMLee) : The problem of Islamic terrorism would not be easily extirpated, observed MM Lee. While Muslims in Southeast Asia were traditionally moderate and tolerant, they had been affected by radicalism emanating from Middle East and the spread of wahhabism from Saudi Arabia. Singapore's Muslim leaders were rational and educated in English and the GOS kept a limit on madrassah-based education. He stressed that moderate Muslims had to be encouraged to stand up and speak out against radicalism. They needed confidence that they could win. We could get to the tipping point, noted MM Lee, but he didn't know how long it would take.

MM Lee said Islamic terrorists would continue to use violence until shown that their methods would not succeed. If they were successful in Iraq, they would try to topple secular governments in other countries, such as Indonesia. PM Lee said Singapore supported U.S. efforts in Iraq; it was important to get the Iraqi government working, with a security force that could take over from U.S. forces and fend for itself. Asked by Rep. Rangel how organized terrorists were internationally, MM Lee responded that orthodox Islam was a powerful force capable of recruiting volunteers for terrorist groups. He noted Singapore's experience in 2001 and 2002 in dealing with Jemaah Islamiyah's terrorist plots in Singapore and characterized Islam as a "venomous religion."

I know Singapore won't pander to identity politics like we do..

The violent  divisions espoused by the Ku Klux Klan, Antifa and BLM would not be tolerated.

The narrative in the West of Israeli-Muslim relations is pure leftist propaganda. Israel, much like France has bent over backwards to appease Muslims both within Israel proper and the Palestinian territories. The Palestinian Muslims cost Israeli taxpayers large. My party, Yisrael Beiteinu wants to kick them out and off of Israeli tax bills.

The Rise of Islamocrats

Muslims are embraced by the left as a natural ally, as illegal aliens and blacks have been for decades.  More than 90 Muslims, nearly all of them Democrats, are running for public office across the country this year.  Many are young and politically inexperienced, and most are long shots.

According to the Pew report, fully two thirds of U.S. Muslims identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party (66%).  Far fewer say they are Republican or lean Republican (13%), while one in five say they prefer another party or are politically independent and do not lean toward either major party.  Muslim Americans' partisan composition is little changed over the last decade, and they remain much more strongly Democratic than the public as a whole.

Well, our leftist politicians, hungry for votes and devoted to the practice of political correctness, bend over backwards to accede to Islamists' demands.  At the same time, Muslims will ally with leftist politicians, who will gladly cede some of their power to this group of enforcers so conservative politicians and Christians who advocate self-defense and sane social policies are kept out of office.  Money that was once used to build mosques will now be used to buy politicians.

Progressives have been rallying behind jihadist Linda Sarsour, an American-born Arab native, who was calling to wage jihad, a terrorist threat against the president of the United States and the White House staff.  In reality, Sarsour has declared jihad (holy war) on the United States government and its people. That's the kind of people the current Democrat Party is cheering for.

The Democrats have shown by both words and actions that they despise the U.S. Constitution.  When it comes to the support of Muslims, they will not hesitate to hold the Bill of Rights over anyone who dares to accuse Islam and Muslims of wrongdoing.  While crime and threats skyrocket, Islamized citizens will ignore the wrongdoing.  They will look the other way for fear of retribution, honor killings, and punishments from those who uphold the Islamic requirement to seek revenge on anyone who dishonors or disagrees with Islam.

Regrettably, a large segment of the population goes along with these nonsensical euphemisms depicting Islam.  It is less threatening to believe that only a hijacked small segment of Islam is radical or politically driven and that the main body of Islam is indeed moderate and apolitical.

Our liberal professors and universities claim that Islam is inherently good; the majority of Muslims are good; and only a small minority has hijacked the good faith of Muhammad by engaging in acts of intolerance, hatred, and violence.  I agree: it is not uncommon to observe Muslims, anywhere in the world, who are indeed exemplary in many ways.  They are kind, generous, and much more.  But these are cultural Muslims who are, in effect, only part Muslim.  The question is, why is it that the good Islam is not ruling in the world and the bad Islam is engulfing it in fire?

Most Americans are bewildered as to why Democrats back Islamic ideology; honor their holidays and customs; and promote them as the religion of peace, knowing that Islam is not a religion of peace.  In fact, it is an ideology of war.  The answer is quite simple: the Democratic Party stands with anyone who hates America and the Republican party.  History has proven that once Muslims have the majority, they institute sharia law and adopt their own legal system.  A government within a government.

Sharia is Islamic law – the disciplines and principles that govern the behavior of a Muslim individual toward himself and his family, neighbors, community, city, nation, and the Muslim polity as a whole, the Ummah.  Similarly, sharia governs the interactions among communities, groups, and social and economic organizations.  Sharia establishes the criteria by which all social actions are classified, categorized, and administered within the overall governance of the state.

We are on a precarious path to lose our freedom and the American values we cherish.  The Democratic Party is no longer the Party of Kennedy.  It has become the greatest threat to our national security and our survival as a nation.

The United States suffered an Islamic attack worse than Pearl Harbor. But, it has been the victim that has had to repent, not the perpetrator.

As much as he is revered, it should never be forgotten that he was equally feared.

We fear what Trudeau will do next to working Canadians, but nobody respects him.

Mr Lee forbade anyone entering Singapore with exposed tattoos. If your hair exceeded collar length, you could either sit in a barbers chair in the airport and have your shiny locks cropped, or get back on the aircraft.

If you criticised Mr Lee, bad fortune would beset you.

Mr Lee was the epitome of a benign dictator. I'm not saying that is good, nor bad. But would you live in a country in which criticising the President would see you lose your job or your business?

Singapore had the rule of law, not the rule of man like China..

They are consistently ranked one of the most transparent countries, higher than Canada in fact..

There are tattoo parlours in Singapore too.

Those Oriental countries have the pulse of their nations a lot better than someone like Trudeau. He doesn't  care what the average citizen wants.

Really?

I've never seen one.

However, I referred to Mr Lee's social management in the 70's and 80's. Those restraints are long gone. But the penalty of whipping and execution still remain for some crimes.
