Sydney has Bondi (which isn't that great if you see it up close), Melbourne has St Kilda, Adelaide has Glenelg, Darwin has Mindal, Perth has Cottlesloe.

Hobart's beaches aren't great either...but it's never warm enough there to matter.

Perth has, Port Beach, Leighton Beach, Cottesloe Beach... Scarborough Beach, Trigg... South Beach... OMG... more beaches that you can poke a stick at...

Scarborough Beach...  VVVV

Those beaches look good.

I, however, prefer beaches that aren't crowded.

That would be some Hotel's private beach.

Which is yet another reason I despise and will not patronise "resorts".

My wife and I have stayed at many resorts in the Caribbean and Central American. None were like that.

The problem I've had with resorts is not just the private beaches...its all the damn tourists!!!
