Maybe you are an elite manbag swinging ninja though.

So, it's OK that everyone carries a gun, and around 600 people PER WEEK die of gunshot wounds in the US to protect us from how many deaths by truck? Or knife?

You aren't very bright, are you?

How many people were killed by all their own governments in the 20th century and what was the typical precursor to that?

In cases of mass murder, where do nutjobs go to commit such acts?

Two simple queries. Take your time. I'm slow roasting a slab of venison hubby's brother gave us from his last hunting trip. It should turn out grouse. Did the herbal dry rub first at 6am, arc'd the heat up fast then turned it down to a trickle.

The Chinese invented gun powder.

Yep, not to mention the most ironic thing is they accidently invented it originally hoping to create the medicine of eternal life, now so many people are easily killed b/c of this stupid alchemist.   ac_unsure

It was always meant for military purposes.

There's some truth to what you say, but this is really the past and doesn't reflect the average reality.  If people don't like their country they're free to leave, no one is pointing a gun at their head to stay.

It sure is after they find out it's violent nature, but before I believe the person that accidently invented it was hoping to create a elixir for long life and good health.

Doesn't reflect your average reality but realities can and do change, often incrementally. It's also very cyclical. Governments tend to start off on their best foot and descend into madness down the road. Revolutions happen. Coups happen. Stupid people elect stupid people like Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib who in turn seek to change longstanding social contracts such as property rights and self determination, by any means and at any cost.

It's always been a balancing act and when the populace is a potential threat, governments disarm their citizens. There are countless examples of this happening throughout history and it will continue to happen.

In cases like this guns aren't really the best solution, if anyone is a threat to the government even if they have guns, I believe the SWAT or any kind of special force would make short work of them in any moment.  This is why we have democracy and free speech, a much better tool to deal with those kind of politicians that wants to dictate and control your individual rights.

Democracy and free speech disappear not long after the ability of citizens to curtail the excesses of their governments is removed.

It's a numbers game. The most well trained and equipped police and military cannot put down a widely armed citizenry barring an indiscriminate scorched earth policy on the heads of everyone, including security forces.

And definitely not after the 20% participation rate is met and exceeded.

I have no idea. As it is not salient to the discussion at hand, I have even less interest. Unless, of course, you're trying to suggest that private ownership of guns somehow protects citizens from its own government, in which case you are deluded as well as retarded.

Hmm...let's see...schools, dance halls, rock concerts, churches, shopping malls, bowling alleys...wait...I'll make it easy...EVERYWHERE AND ANYWHERE.

Now, what the fuck has any of this got to do with gun ownership by private citizens?

I dun really believe it considering the fact the US is probably the only developed country in the world that suffers from constant mass shooting b/c of it's loose gun laws.  Meanwhile here in Canada, European and developed East asian counties are much safer b/c of what Brick and I agreed on.

If civilians plan to use scorched earth tactics, chances they're just asking the government to send in the whole military to put and end to everything and nothing can be done about it.  This has been proven in the Sino-Vietnam war, teh Viets thought it was smart to set up booby traps until it lead the Chinese to just pulvarize anything in sight, same as the Yanks decided to open fire upon anything that has 2 legs and look like Vietnamese.

You two government loving Peaceniks have fun with each other. It's obvious that you're either willfully or unintentionally misinterpreting the points I've made because of your ignorance of history, power, and human nature.

In Bricktop's case also because of altered brain chemistry.

And now you're an expert in civil warfare??

 ac_toofunny

Son, a well trained and equipped squad of soldiers will take apart a civilian force with indisputable ease.

Just by way of example, get someone to discharge a firearm over your head from 100 metres. Now imagine there's 10 of those high calibre military rifles firing over your head, and you think it's a good idea to stick it up to return fire.

You'd fudge your huggies, sunshine, throw down your gun and hope they are in a good mood.

Soldiers and police anti terrorist teams train DAILY to deal with insurrection, twinky dink, with equipment you have no clue about.

Possessing a gun in a civil uprising will only get you killed quicker.

And of course, these civilian forces are only intent on making your lives better. Like Mao, Lenin, Pol Pot, the IRA, the PLO...

We're not ignorant Dinky, and you're forgetting 2 critical factors, "modern democracy" and "modern militariy".  One is you'll have a better chance of making use of to expose those politicians and the other one is you'll never stand a change against.
