Yes.



Happily the surge protector on the main power board operated perfectly, so the main switchboard was protected.



The electrician got us back up and running quite quickly, and made the house safe. One power outlet blew out of the wall, and a number of light switches were destroyed but they were replaced straight away.

It will take some time.



The flooring will have to be replaced. That is a MAJOR construction job.

He came this morning.



The entire floor will need tiles replacing. Around 100m2.



HOWEVER....plan B is to build an entertainment unit over the damaged area!!! That works for us, cheaper for them and means we won't have to find somewhere else to live while they repair the floor.



Building an entertainment unit in that location was in our plans!!!! A stroke of luck if we can make that happen.
