Bricktop

It rained yesterday for the first time in 7 months.

In some places, much, much longer than that.

This 18 month old toddler had never seen rain in his life.

More is expected, and much more is needed.

That's wonderful Bricktop.

Bricktop

It's hard to express how relieved we are when the rain finally comes. 6 months of little to no rain is not unusual, but with record heat and NO rain for 7 months we get a little perturbed.

We still need lots more...but apparently we're getting hosed this evening. I assume Caskur has already received their allocation.

What is drier and hotter, Perth or Adelaide?

Quote from: "Bricktop"Adelaide.

Alice Springs is super hot and dry.

Bricktop

Alice is not a capital city, though.

But yes, it's like living on sandpaper under a heat lamp up there.

Darwin never drops below 30C all year round.

Frood

It's wet here now too. The cold front rolled in and all I had on was a skirt and short sleeved top. Brrrrrrr!
Blahhhhhh...

Bricktop

As evidenced by this photo...

Ugggghh that's a snazzy man kilt and an altered Bonds singlet. I don't do South Australia femme style, Goober Pedy.

When it rains after a long dry period, I get all choked up and actually cry for joy.

1990's stats were Perth Adelaide and Hobart were the driest Capital cities but it has worsened since then. Canberra is now just as dry apparently.

We had a nice drop in January then virtually nothing until Easter..

Average up to Easter is 93 mm and we'd 13 mm

Easter pushed us up to 52.6....

Now we should have had 200 mm... and we are still sitting at 52.5 so being nearly 150 mm down, you here would be only one who understands the ramifications of that. .

We're even less.

Bad times.

Hobart is the capital of Tasmania.....I thought that entire province got lots of precipitation(rain and some snow).
