Whilst on the opposite side of the fence to you in this regard, you are quite correct in highlighting the incongruity of calling left wing socialist activists as "fascists". It is not a matter of semantics, but a vital misnomer that delivers confusing messages.



The left's militancy is socialism, which promotes as one its tenets social uprising and civil disruption. This is why most civil disruptors and militant operators (and their commensurate thuggery) are from the left. It's in their DNA. The street is their pulpit.



Calling it "fascism" denies its true purpose; imposed socialism, aka communism. That is the true enemy in our midst.



Of course, there are fascists among us, but far fewer in numbers and far less effective in winning hearts and minds. The left, however, sees things differently, in that anyone who disagrees with the failed and flawed political manifesto is automatically deemed a "fascist".



It is SOCIALISM driving violence and hooliganism in our community, NOT fascism.

That, m'dear, is the modus operandi of socialism. Not exclusively, but socialism relies on "activism" which includes any social disruption, violence, vandalism and general rioting. The mission of socialism is to create a socialist society based on the manifesto written by Karl Mark, and inspired by social philosophers who decried "capitalism" as an economic tyranny against a specific class...the workers.



Modern socialism has separated class into race, gender and sexual orientation because rule by the working class proletariat has totally failed in nations that tried to implement it. Only a few holdouts remain; Cuba, Venezuala, North Korea and arguably Vietnam and Cambodia.



Fascism is based on nationalism and racial superiority; it's economic model is socialist, but it's social and national construct is based on racial or national superiority.



Both require an enemy in order to provide their accolytes with a "cause". Socialists despise white culture and rule, fascists despise non whites and jews.



They are different beasts, and calling one by the other's name is a mistake fraught with difficult consequences.
