Like most Canadians, I too believe it's time for Justin Trudeau to be fired..

The last prime minister we had that misused his power to such an extreme was his father Pierre.

True. It's only been the 2 T's who have tried such power plays .. and yes, T2  needs a firing

You need to consider the bigger picture.

Trudeau does not act alone, and without input from advisors and Cabinet.

They in turn consider, above all else, the electoral impact of decisions made. If Trudeau becomes a liability, they lose their jobs.

Local members will be feeding in their reading of the mood of the people, and based on that intelligence, every utterance is carefully crafted and scripted.

Trudeau is clearly informed that he has mass support still, and that his position is not causing electoral damage. Whether that is right or wrong, only an election will tell. But he is clearly playing to his base, and that is clear evidence that the division and spite we first witnessed in the US has spread to Canada.

This is not about Covid any more. This is YOUR Waterloo.

I disagree. The LPC has become a cult of personality around Justin Trudeau. I wrote in another thread that in the past there were factions within Trudeau's party that would have called for his resignation for a lot less than what he has done to tens of thousands of hardworking, law abiding citizens.

For the past five years, the LPC caucus didn't need to rock the boat because there main oppsotion, the Consevatives had back to back weak leaders. That is very likely to change, which may cause the LPC caucus to grow a spine and revolt against Trudeau if they want to win another election.

Well, it's pretty much a given now that T-2 cannot match a "good" conservative leader .. their choice of "winner" leader could well play a role inside the Lib Party with regard to leader

I believe a strong Tory leader will force the LPC to revert to the LPC of the 90's and early 2000's and turn on their own. Barring a major scandal, Trudeau has little hope of defeating PP. The LPC caucus knows that.

If that is correct, and I have no reason to think it's not, I will assume that if Trudeau has a few foxes in his hen house, he will carefully count the numbers every time he opens his yap.

I think the presumption that Trudeau is a dead duck is more hope than prediction. PM's don't act like assholes unless other assholes give him support.

That is not to say that something doesn't seem rotten in Canadian politics.

I'm not writing Mr Trudeau's eulogy just yet. His greatest strength has always been that he is covered in teflon. A compliant media helped with that.

Something is different this time. Canadians know it and now the world knows it. All it takes is one member of his caucus to stand up to him and create a domino effect. It has happened to former leaders of this party. In fact, it doesn't even have to be within the LPC caucus. There are grumblings about all of this within his coalition partner, the far left New Democratic Party. I've never seen Trudeau so vulnerable.

Well, you certainly deserve an early election to clear the air.

Unfortunately, the Conservatives recently fired their leader. They won't have a permanent leader until mid spring. Realistically, for Trudeau to kicked to the curb, it will take a year.

History is usually the best predictor of what will happen in the future. All the stars have to align as they did in that past for that to happen. The ball is in the Tory's court. They cannot pick another weak leader.

It is people like this that may be able to rescue America from its own madness.

But they are in for a battle.

America has a rescuer. He was born in South Africa.
