Blurt

Was the playwright Moronic?

Happy birthday, you hoary scamp.
Aimin\' to misbehave.

Bricktop, have you been to dinner theatre?

Bricktop

Thanks for the birthday greetings, all.

Yes, I did go to a theatre dinner once. A LONG time ago. Around 1972 or 3. It was a music hall style of theatre.

I don't think I enjoyed it, if memory serves...but that may have been because the meal was pretty ordinary.

There are undiscovered Aboriginal tribes in the vast expanse of the Australian outback that KNEW someone would ask that punny question. I'm not saying that YOU'RE predictable, though.

Very slick and funny...less so if you are of a religious persuasion.

Definitely a good night out.

A musical called the Book of Mormon?

It's a global sensation. Packed houses every night, wherever it's playing.

Does the musical make fun of the LDS church?

Depends on how you look at it. In a way, it does...but oddly, it celebrates faith no matter the source. It certainly pokes it's tongue at mormonism, but at the same time implies that if a religion provides faith and happiness, no matter what it's source, then it can't be all bad.

It is a VERY clever piece of social commentary.

It is still a fruity musical.

Bricktop

Oh, it's fruity alright.

But in a sharp and funny way.

I will have to take your word for it, because I have no intention of going to a musical.

I'm sure there are but, until they discover tablets of their own, they're obviously keeping mum.

In the meantime, that 17-year old "Elder," over there by the poker machine, is smoking a joint.

Go arrest him, why don't you?

(a) I am not a police officer.

(b) It is not an arrestable offence.

(c) He is a juvenile, so could not possibly be an elder.

(d) I don't care.
