You might be thinking of Vanilla Slices which is custard between pastry with a icing on top.



I don't like these very much because when you bite them, the custard squishes out so I avoid them.

Anything sweet makes me sick. But, old Herman is sweet enough as it is.

I made banana bread French toast once, my children liked it.

I use the nutria-blast (or whatever it's called) and blend the banana in the batter.



The batter is made of self raising flour, egg, milk. I like to use wholemeal flour. I use extra bicarbonate soda in the mixture too...



You know, you can blend up an apple instead of banana. If you want to spice it up, add cinnamon.



Don't use white sugar in the mixture... it doesn't need it, Banana is sweet enough... Use maple syrup by all means when you go to eat it....

It is yummy when you dump cane sugar and use real whole fruit as your natural sweetener.



Even sweet candy/lollies now come cane sugar free... They use Stevia. Look that up in google.



Pancakes are very versatile. In fact, we met a beautiful French Jewess who started a crepe business at Fremantle Markets well over 30 years ago. She sold that business eons ago but it still bears her name. Michelles Crepe Suzettes.
