The question any sane and sensible country asks of its citizens is "Why should you have a gun?"

America asks "Why SHOULDN'T you have a gun?"

Why are people that dangerous not institutionalized.

Why give them guns?

They're not, and yet you are, and I quote" "10x more likely to be shot in the U.S" even though your friendly neighbors to the north(that's us) have more lax gun laws than some of your states with the worst gun crime rates. Why are you more likely to get shot in LA or Chicago(both have the strictest gun laws in the U.S) than in some rural shithole? think carefully on this one.

Bricktop is from Australia.

Ah I see. Where is bricktop getting his statistics from, then?

you're more likely to get murdered in greenland than you are in the U.S on a per capita basis. Venezuela come in at number 3, and they did have their guns confiscated. so much for that idea.

I did not mention the word "murder". I said "killed". There is a difference.

I qualified my comment by including ONLY western first world nations. You may examine this more appropriate table relating to me comments.

You will note that death by gunfire is actually TWELVE times more likely in the US than Australia. And twice as likely in Canada.

Enjoy your stay.

And even though The U.S has 10-12 times the guns than honduras, you're 5 times more likely to get shot in Honduras based on the statistics that YOU provided and they have LESS THAN HALF the gun ownership rate than australia.

In my home alone, there are 3 pistols, 3 rifles, and 2 shotguns

Why?

Ooops, 4 rifles lol.

I have a 30-30, my son has a 30-30, and now I have my dad's 30-30, all Marlins. My dad never hunted with his, but my son and I use that one to hunt deer with. My uncle has the same rifle he hunts with too.

I have a 12 gauge shotgun, Mossberg, and now my son has my dad's. That is an all around gun. You can change the choke to vary the spread depending on what you are hunting. Various rounds for various game. Go for a squirrel, or a bear, dont matter, as long as the ammo is right. Its also a great defense gun, once your rifle range has been breached lol.

Pistols, my first one my dad gave to me, was a .32 long, from the 60's, same officers use to carry. He taught me I should always carry one, "cause ya never know". He carried all the time, I have a hard time accepting that I should, but always take with me camping. Anyway, I handed that one down to my son when he came of age, around the time my dad died. I also have a .44 magnum, I got that after the bear attack lol. Its too much really, but will put down anything I shoot at. I got handed down my grandads nice .357 with pearl handles. Never been fired. I plan to fire it eventually, I really like a .357, its a great all around pistol. Still kinda big to be sporting around.

Got my son a .22 long ago, thats a fun gun. Wish I got myself one lol. We have fun target practicing with that. I had gotten longer clips before they "became a big deal". Go through 100 rounds in about a minute lol.

So I guess as to "why", is some are family heirlooms, some are for fun, some are for hunting, some are for defense. There is no reason why I should not, Im a good citizen, not some deranged fucker.... well you know

Its not fair to the millions of law abiding citizens, to disarm them, and let the small percentage of deranged fuckers run amuck.

I can hear you now, "what about the children Blaze!?". Law abiding citizens dont go out harming kids, its deranged fuckers. A deranged fucker will do whatever it takes, such as using a gun, using a car, a knife, something that goes boom, an airplane, you name it.

Children die at the hands of the military too, yet you say they should have all the weapons. Its a fact Brick, more civilians die at the hands of the military, than the ones they are after. Why are you not up in arms over that?

And thanks to Obama, now our local police have military grade weapons, so expect more children to die on home turf, at the hands of your brotherly officers. Oh sure, they do their best, but it will happen, Im sure it has already.

Here, where do most shootings take place, in gun free zones. Its common sense as to what will happen if you make the whole country a gun free zone. Criminals will still have guns. They outlawed pot, people still got it and smoked it, and now its about to become legal again cause they cant stop it and its become socially acceptable. This day and age, if someone wants something, they can get it.

Why do you want innocent folks unarmed and defenseless Brick? Why do you want to see more people die not being able to defend themselves?
I've come here to chew bubble gum, and kick ass. And I'm all out of bubblegum.

Also on your chart, there is more suicides than homicides in the US, which another thing Brick overlooks, the suicide rate of "firearm deaths".

But the problem is criminals obtain their guns from people that got their firearms legally, as long as guns are easy to purchase in the US, gun shooting will continue on and there's not much difference from people trying to put out a chemical fire using only water.

This happens too, robbers see value in guns.

Then we have cities like one I seen, where registered conceal carry permit holders, were exposed on an online interactive map by the city. It was to tell others where gun owners were, but in reality, it was like announcing a sidewalk sale for a robber. The robber would know where the guns were, and simply waited til the homeowner left for the day.

They illegally sell their guns to criminals or people that aren't allowed to have guns.
