After having murder charges levied against a Houston cop for killing innocents during a no knock raid, this caught my attention. A 2015 Chicago no knock warrant is coming back to bite the Chicago PD in the ass after a news story a year ago.

QuoteAccording to the complaint for search warrant, police acted on the word of a confidential informant who told police weekly heroin sales were being made by Derec Bell, a man also known as "Ace," at the address where Blassingame and her children lived then.

But Bell could not have been selling heroin at that address at that time because CBS 2 found he was actually in Galesburg, 200 miles away, at the Hill Correctional Center. He had been incarcerated there for six years.

CBS 2 searched a publicly available database for Bell's most recent address, as well as the Cook County Court docket and Illinois Department of Corrections inmate database. The search quickly revealed Bell is serving a 40-year prison sentence for murder.

In the last year, after the news story, 10 other law suits have been filed with similar stories.

Apparently an IT company in Wisconsin is under a ransomware attack. They do cloud data hosting etc for nursing home/hospice companies...The hospice my wife works for just bought by one of the companies affected by the attack. They have been down a week. They had just switched over to this new system and everyone was still in training/learning mode. They are screwed. Should not affect patient care, just slows things way down.

My wife had already given notice and Wednesday will be her last day. She was driving an hour (32 miles) each way and found a job that is 3 miles away.
QuoteA ransomware outbreak has besieged a Wisconsin based IT company that provides cloud data hosting, security and access management to more than 100 nursing homes across the United States. The ongoing attack is preventing these care centers from accessing crucial patient medical records, and the IT company's owner says she fears this incident could soon lead not only to the closure of her business, but also to the untimely demise of some patients.

It means they don't announce themselves or knock, they just break the door down and throw flash bang grenades then rush inside. Usually a large team that will break down every door simultaneously doing that. Weapons out ready to shoot anyone that moves wrong. While I could see the need for something like that in the case of a meth lab or something similar, but too many times they have had the wrong address or wrong house. When that happens they should be thrown under the jail.

The city of Winnipeg has tied it's all time record for homicides in a single year at 41. With 37 days to go will they break their record and hold a parade to follow their Grey Cup victory parade.

QuoteThe shooting death of a 21-year-old man has pushed the number of homicides in Winnipeg this year into a tie with the city's all-time record.

Police said Saturday that the body of Dustin Cree Baker had been found in a townhouse in the city's North End neighbourhood three days earlier. He is believed to have died of gunshot wounds. No arrests have been made.

Baker's death is the 41st this year to be deemed a homicide by Winnipeg police. That ties the previous record for the city, which was set in 2011. If homicides in Winnipeg continue at the current pace, there will be approximately six more before the end of the year – in which case 2019 would nearly double the city's five-year average homicide number.

Woman bites testicles off camel

A Florida woman bit the testicles off of a camel at a Lousiana truck stop petting zoo after she entered the pen to get her dog and the animal sat on her, according to The Advocate.

The woman's husband was tossing treats for their dog to retrieve when some of the canine snacks inadvertently ended up in Caspar the camel's pen, the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office said.

The pooch went into the camel's den to get the treat. The couple followed when the camel sat on the woman. "She said, 'I bit his testicles to get him off of me,'" Iberville Parish Deputy Louis Hamilton Jr. said. "The camel did nothing wrong," Hamilton said, alleging, "(the couple) were aggressive. The camel was just doing its normal routine." The couple was charged with a leash law violation and trespassing.
