The insurance company refuses to pay..

Hellfest-festival had taken a pandemic insurance prior to the corona outbreak..

"Aware of the stakes and its responsibility, the Hellfest Productions association had nevertheless taken care to take out an "all except" type insurance with the aforementioned company ALBINGIA, a French insurance company with its headquarters in Levallois Perret, for the low sum of € 175,000, corresponding to the amount of the contract premium supposed to cover us from potential risks leading to a cancellation. This same insurance contract clearly stipulates that pecuniary losses due to possible pandemics will be covered, provided that the contract was signed before the appearance and recognition of this pandemic by the French authorities or by WHO. Our contract was signed on December 17, 2019, before the official appearance of the virus in China."

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/south-dakota-implements-statewide-hydroxychloroquine-clinical-trial-for-coronavirus-treatment">South Dakota implements statewide hydroxychloroquine clinical trial for potential coronavirus treatment

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem on Monday announced a statewide clinical trial of hydroxychloroquine for the possible treatment of COVID-19, making her state the first in the country to institute a program exploring the potential effectiveness of the drug in treating and preventing coronavirus.

"From Day One, I've said we're going to let the science, facts and data drive our decision-making in South Dakota," Noem said in a statement provided to Fox News.

Noem, a Republican, announced the "comprehensive" clinical trial Monday after communicating with White House officials in the last week to "let them know that South Dakota's medical community was ready to step up and lead the way on research efforts."

"I made direct requests to President Trump and Vice President Pence to supply us with enough hydroxychloroquine so that it could be made available for every hospitalized person the state may have, as well as those for health care workers on the frontlines and those in the most vulnerable populations," Noem said.

The governor said South Dakota has received doses of hydroxychloroquine to begin the trial.

"Today, I'm pleased to report we have received the initial doses we need, and thanks to the leadership of Sanford Health and the assistance of medical teams at Avera and Monument Health, we're going to be the first state in the nation to do a comprehensive clinical trial to assess whether hydroxychloroquine can treat and perhaps even prevent COVID-19," she said.

South Dakota's announcement comes days after the National Institutes of Health said it would run a human clinical trial for hydroxychloroquine, which typically serves as an antimalarial drug, as an option to treat patients with COVID-19. The trial, which started last week, began with 500 adult participants enrolled at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Alberta will conduct similar trials with our coronavirus patients.

U of C researchers to begin hydroxychloroquine trial on COVID-19 patients

A province-wide clinical trial led by the University of Calgary will test the effectiveness of the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine on COVID-19 patients with the goal of reducing pressure on hospitals and preventing further infections.

Dr. Luanne Metz, one of the study's lead researchers, said treatment options for COVID-19 are unclear.

Metz and Dr. Michael Hill, a professor with the U of C's department of clinical neuroscience and Hotchkiss Brain Institute, have worked with researchers at the U of C and University of Alberta to ready the trial. Alberta Health Services and the Canadian government are also supporting the study.

The "HOPE" trial, to begin April 15, will target 1,600 Albertan outpatients who have tested positive for COVID-19 and are at risk of developing severe symptoms. The study will determine if hydroxychloroquine can prevent hospitalization for those at highest risk of developing a severe illness.

Participants will give their permission to Alberta Health Services after testing positive for COVID-19 and provide their contact information to U of C researchers. They'll then be screened for safety and eligibility through a telephone interview and review of their electronic health record.

Those patients accepted will be sent hydroxychloroquine to their homes and will be required to take the drug over a five-day period. Researchers will follow up with participants seven and 30 days after starting the treatment.

SHOES - Important & usually neglected as a potential source

I have now heard from 2 medical sources that a major way people get contaminated is from the soles of their shoes

Makes sense to me - In fact, thinking on it, I'd expect it.  May be a major vehicle of infection.

Particles breathed out of course end up on floors, pavement etc .. . we walk on them and end up with a layer on the bottom

Recommended is leaving shoes at door and don't touch underside at any time & do not walk into house with them on

That is an easy one for Koreans to follow. They never wear outdoor footwear in the house. Although I grew up in Canada, I have religiously  followed that custom since I have lived on my own.

I think Germans don't wear outside footwear in the house either. Am I correct about that?

I´m not sure but I do think that brits dont take their shoes off when entering a house.

I have assumed that taking your shoes off is the global norm...

Outside shoes are filthy.. You might have stepped on some liquefied dog shit on the streets.

It's a very recent development..

Even if it doesn't treat the virus, how can a drug that has been around for so many decades hurt over five days.
