BTW - efficiency is not the only important criteria

How much they lessen severity for those who get infected is also a vital criteria to weigh

If severity is consistently greatly reduced, then one could say it's virtually 100%

Which is why I'm trying to find that element for RNA vaccines .. Astra-Zeneca is virtually 100% in that category

As I understand yesterday's announcement by Health Minister Shandro, if I want the Astra-Zeneca vaccine, I can probably get my first jab before May 1..

If I want Pfizer or Moderna, it will be June at the earliest.

Yes, Alta is doing it different from us. We are using Astra-Zeneca for a great  expansion  of the term "essential workers"

We will be 2 running parallel operations  .. one by age only (RNA) and the other by worker categories (Astra-Zeneca)

All provinces have to scramble, A-Z has very short shelf life

Have not heard that - It does also very work well for symptom reductions  if infected .. almost perfectly so

It has been proven to work well against the UK variant based on following the extensive use in the UK

Pfizer-BioNTech has agreed to move up a portion of its vaccines scheduled for the summer, with an additional 1.5 million doses arriving in March.

This means Canada will have access to a total of eight million vaccine doses from Pfizer, Moderna, and AstraZeneca by the end of the first quarter, up from an original commitment of six million doses.

Pfizer is also accelerating shipments for April and May by one million additional doses each month. By the end of the second quarter, Canada is on track to receive 36.5 million doses and by the end of the third quarter, 117.9 million, which will include the now-approved Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Austrian authorities have suspended inoculations with a batch of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine as a precaution while investigating the death of one person and the illness of another after the shots, a health agency said on March 7.

"The Federal Office for Safety in Health Care (BASG) has received two reports in a temporal connection with a vaccination from the same batch of the AstraZeneca vaccine in the district clinic of Zwettl" in Lower Austria province, it said.

One 49-year-old woman died as a result of severe coagulation disorders, while a 35-year-old woman developed a pulmonary embolism and is recovering, it said. A pulmonary embolism is an acute lung disease caused by a dislodged blood clot.

"Currently, there is no evidence of a causal relationship with the vaccination," BASG said.

They are going to have a segment on fluvoxamine on Sixty Minutes tonight.

The antidepressant fluvoxamine could keep mild COVID-19 from worsening

A real-world study and data from animal and cell studies confirm earlier clinical trial results

The antidepressant fluvoxamine could prevent people from getting seriously ill with COVID-19, curbing hospitalizations, new data show.

The results come from real-world use of the drug to treat workers at the Golden Gate Fields horse racing track in Berkeley, Calif. Of those who opted to take fluvoxamine, none got sicker, and within two weeks, their symptoms cleared. In comparison, 12.5 percent of those who turned down the drug wound up hospitalized. Two got so sick they were put on a ventilator to assist with breathing, and one died, researchers report February 1 in Open Forum Infectious Diseases.

The data need verification from ongoing larger clinical trials. However, some experts say that the new findings, along with cell, animal and human observational data, suggest that a two-week course of fluvoxamine, which costs about $10 and is already approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, could be considered for patients at high risk of suffering severe COVID-19 symptoms.
