My vaccine appointment is tomorrow.

Alberta is offering anybody over the age of twelve a first shot.

All remaining Astra Zeneca vaccines in Alberta will be used for second doses.

Canada not doing so well on an overall basis:

Alberta and Nova Scotia have been experiencing their worse outbreaks since the pandemic started. Looking at the case tracker, Alberta appears to be finally turning the corner, while there are small signs that Nova Scotia's latest wave is beginning to crest.

The situation is less than ideal in Manitoba, however. The province has the dubious record of having the second-highest seven-day average in new infections on a per capita basis in all of Canada and the United States at 303.7 cases per million people as of Tuesday. It sits behind Alberta's 436.3 cases and ahead of Michigan's 274.8 cases.

As Canada works to turn the corner in the third wave and as vaccinations reach nearly 48 per cent of the eligible population, the federal government is planning to offer rapid COVID-19 tests directly to businesses and organizations to help identify and isolate new cases.

Vaccinations:

After an excruciating start to the vaccination campaign that saw January and February go by without much progress, Canada is on track to vaccinate half of the eligible population this week (16 and up), or 40 per cent of the entire population. That number might be even higher, as some Canadians opted to travel abroad to receive their shots and are not tracked. This past Friday, Canada logged a record 400,000 doses administered in a single day. Canada  confirmed there will also be enough vaccines to get all eligible residents their first shot this summer and enough doses for everyone to be fully vaccinated by September.

In "today" perspective, Alberta now has 3 consecutive days of between 421 & 605 (today)  below last weeks  average day for new cases  .. the preceding day to those 3 days  was a small gain .. definitely going in a good direction

It's time to halt AstraZeneca shots in Canada, except for people 40 or older in hotspots, says Andrew Morris, a doctor on Ontario's COVID-19 science advisory table

The peculiar blood clotting disorder linked with Oxford-AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine, a vaccine now temporarily paused in Ontario and Alberta, doesn't cause the regular kind of blood clots. These clots require more extensive care, they can't be predicted and, most importantly, are "really kinda bad," says a Toronto infectious diseases specialist. The case fatality rate ranges between 20 and 40 per cent.

For those reasons and more, Dr. Andrew Morris believes it's time to halt AstraZeneca's shots across the country, except where COVID-19 is burning and people at very high risk of COVID cannot wait for a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna shot — mRNA vaccines that haven't been associated with the same blood clot "safety signal."

Do you you still have your classic Thunderbird cc?

Yes, we do. Not "technically classic" as is only 2005, but is looked upon as though it is .... mainly because it has such extremely different lines (or body sculpting) from any other cars built in recent times
