Are the vaccines approved in Canada or only emergency authorization?

Good question. I would suspect emergency use, but cannot say that is fact

EDIT: I searched on "Are the vaccines approved in Canada or only emergency authorization?"

and for what it's worth on Canadian Health site for all (including some I've never heard of) it reads "Interim Order Respecting the Importation, Sale and Advertising of Drugs for Use in Relation to COVID-19. Authorized with terms and conditions."

Date published: 2021-07-30 https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/drugs-health-products/covid19-industry/drugs-vaccines-treatments/authorization/list-drugs.html">https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/ ... drugs.html">https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/drugs-health-products/covid19-industry/drugs-vaccines-treatments/authorization/list-drugs.html

Another Health Canada page only confuses it further: ""Approved COVID-19 Vaccines" followed by

"Information on COVID-19 vaccines including approved vaccines, types of vaccines and on-going safety monitoring - and proceeds to name the 4 we know well"

I hope further studies prove this wrong.

Fully Vaccinated May Transmit Delta Just As Easily—And New Variant Shows Signs Of Vaccine Evasion—Early U.K. Research Suggests

While vaccinations reduce the overall risk of catching the delta variant, research published Friday by Public Health England (PHE) found early evidence that people fully vaccinated against Covid-19 may be able to transmit the hyper infectious variant just as easily as those who aren't.

With their findings outlined in a new technical briefing, PHE scientists said initial analysis of available data indicates that the levels of virus in people infected with the delta variant after being vaccinated "may be similar" to the levels found in unvaccinated people.

PHE called the research just "early exploratory analysis" and wrote that "further targeted studies" are needed to determine the extent to which vaccinated people can spread the delta variant to others.

Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Aug. 12 that he is launching a Rapid Response Team to dispense monoclonal antibodies to tackle Florida's rising number of COVID-19 cases and reduce serious symptoms, preventing the potential for hospital overcrowding.

A study released in April showed Regeneron's antibody cocktail helped people recover faster after falling ill, and when given in the early stages, could prevent people from becoming sick with the virus.

Monoclonal antibody treatment is not well known, according to the governor, because it received federal emergency use authorization around the same time as the vaccines were being approved, and that the "focus rightfully was on vaccines at the time." He said he felt that it was important to utilize this treatment alongside vaccines, and it was, in his opinion, "the most effective yet for people who are already infected."

The Department of Health and Human Services website describes these monoclonal antibodies as "laboratory-produced molecules that may block the virus that causes COVID-19 from attaching to human cells, making it more difficult for the virus to reproduce and cause harm. These antibodies could help the immune system respond more effectively to the virus."

EDMONTON -- Amid rising hospitalizations and case counts, Alberta is backing down from its plans to abandon COVID-19 testing and eliminate isolation rules until late September.

These policies were slated to end on Monday but will now remain in effect until Sept. 27:

Mandatory masking orders in publicly accessible transit, taxis and ride-shares

Mandatory isolation for 10 days for those with COVID-19 symptoms or a positive test result

Testing at assessment centres for any symptomatic individual

Dr. Hinshaw cited rising hospitalization rates that had exceeded projections by more than 60 per cent.

The number of COVID-19 patients in Alberta hospitals has grown from 91 at the start of the month, up to 146 as of Thursday's data report.

The 36 Albertans reported Thursday to be getting COVID-19 care in intensive care units is the highest since June 27.

Not all previously announced changes to COVID-19 measures are being paused.

The province does not intend to resume contact tracing of close contacts of postive cases.

Those close contacts also remain recommended, but not required, to quarantine.
