But, if they were confident in the ability of vaccines to control the spread, they would be secure in the protection the vaccines have provided them. That is not the case. Vaccines work pretty well as treatments, but their efficacy in controlling transmission is limited.

Well, they can't control spread as most cases to date are unvaxxed.



Even if they were 100 protection, overall numbers would still be large and increasing / spreading within unvaxxed.. what we expected all along

That doesn't tell the whole story. Perhaps people who are vaccinated are still socially distancing. I think we will see more in the late fall how effective vaccines are in controlling transmission.

We are stuck with regular booster shots indefinitely .. that is a given



Even with effective boosters, the unvaccinated will keep it going for  a long time



My biggest concern is worse variants evolving .. the more cases, the more the likelihood  .. although most if not all have not originated in 1st world countries

That's why I never laminated the vaccine card, there are two more lines labeled "other" under the vaccine date information, and I'm not sure if they'll write the booster on that or give you another card.

Israel finds COVID-19 vaccine booster significantly lowers infection risk



JERUSALEM, Aug 22 (Reuters) - A third dose of Pfizer (PFE.N)'s COVID-19 vaccine has significantly improved protection from infection and serious illness among people aged 60 and older in Israel compared with those who received two shots, findings published by the Health Ministry showed on Sunday.



The data were presented at a meeting of a ministry panel of vaccination experts on Thursday and uploaded to its website on Sunday, though the full details of the study were not released.



The findings were on par with separate statistics reported last week by Israel's Maccabi healthcare provider, one of several organisations administering booster shots to try to curb the Delta coronavirus variant.



Breaking down statistics from Israel's Gertner Institute and KI Institute, ministry officials said that among people aged 60 and over, the protection against infection provided from 10 days after a third dose was four times higher than after two doses.



A third jab for over 60-year-olds offered five to six times greater protection after 10 days with regard to serious illness and hospitalisation.



That age group is particularly vulnerable to COVID-19 and in Israel was the first to be inoculated when the vaccine drive began in late December.



In recent weeks, the health ministry has said immunity has diminished over time for seniors and younger people as well. Most vaccinated people who fell severely ill in Israel were over 60 and with underlying health conditions.



Israel started administering third jabs to over 60-year-olds on July 30. On Thursday it dropped the age of eligibility for a booster to 40, and included pregnant women, teachers and health care workers below that age. Third doses are given only to those who received their second shot at least five months ago.

it appears that you are correct.... i looked for anything to the contrary but it all leads back to EUA.... i'm sorry.... i know 'full approval' would have been a relief to you and others....
