Editing didn't get rid of the guest's username, which were the brothers first name and surname. Didn't have the option to hide the post in a queue for moderation either. Best I could do with limited options was to delete in the end.

Ok, it worked... didn't realize at the time. If it happens again I'll edit out the guest username and other offending PI... though I don't how much it will matter.. the IP loggings are unaffected either way?
