There will be no christmas parties in restaurants.



No gatherings between co-workers.





But if families live in the same town, they are gonna have a christmas dinner together.

Alberta's infections were up today with 1301 new cases..



Active cases dropped again to 17,821, a total that has declined since numbers peaked on Dec. 13.

3 Weeks of slow drops in numbers and this week may be more dramatic IF next 2 days stay similar

Before our latest lock down, we had strong recommendations not to have social gatherings..



People didn't follow the recommendations and now we have a lock down.

I feel our daily cases across Canada will rise after January first, even if the new Bristish strain doesn't get here.

Sadly you are likely correct, in fact maybe after that for a while as people cheat on the rules over the holiday and spread a further increase this vile disease even further ahead in time



Today ON & Quebec both published further increasing numbers, 2,447 - 49  & 2,349 - 46 respectively .. all up and the highest I can see going back several weeks

Yes, in fact today UK hit highs again ..  near to new cases 40,000 both today & yesterday and for the week up from 170,000 last week to likely about  250,000 for the week ending tomorrow



By the way. It is the only European country of 9 that I track that will not display a major drop in numbers for the past week ... with only Germany being   close to it's previous  week's numbers. All others show serious improvement



All others are doing well, but I fear holiday visiting (legal or otherwise) will change that pattern everywhere

The downward tend in new cases continues in Alberta as we recorded 1100 new cases today, but no reports of the number of deaths..



An estimated 15,600 laboratory tests were done in the last 24 hours, and the province's positivity rate was at seven per cent..



Ontario and Quebec had bad days agian today witb the two provinces combined new infections approaching five thousand.

We had 582 today .. 2 days of rise now after low of 444  .. We are on track to  come in "about" 600 down for current week ending tomorrow



Deaths way down, 1/2 last week with 1 day to go in count





Good News Bulletin - Care home residents now actively getting Moderna shots  .. they were ready and are wasting no time. It just arrived this morning



Our system seems really on the ball and well rehearsed .. over 8000 care home staff and covid front line workers have been vaccinated





I see you guys are back down to 1100 .. although no other info was given



Hospitalizations are increasing, although numbers were not provided, but ICU numbers remain stable.



Death numbers and active case numbers were not provided.





The province is expected to provide similar reports on Dec. 26, 27 and Dec. 31 to Jan. 3, with an in-person update scheduled for Dec. 28 at 3:30 p.m.



Daily updates will then resume on Jan. 5.
