Life in Israel is almost exactly like it was before the pandemic.

Canada is a long way from that.

Yes, saw that. We had 722 - down total of -865 for the week ending today vs previous week

Slowly we inch down  .. many hospitalizations

Week ending today vs. Previous week

U K -1,094

U S -110,937

Canada -1,094

BC - 865

Alta   +2,474

ON   -3,189

Florida      -29,080

Texas      -16,146

France      -57,345

The US is down about eighty percent from it's peak.

US averaged 44,173 / day last week -

death rate / case for as calculated over past 10 weeks was 1.8 % of cases, or 1 for every 56 cases - - about 3 X Canada  for that period and 5X that for BC & Alberta, all of whom have come down a lot in that area while US rate  is same as long ago

I also staggered cases back one week to partially account for lag between deaths and cases - so it's all pretty accurate

Obesity is the reason.

Dunno if that is true. US has been ahead of the world for death / case rate from the gitgo until very recently

Back in Jan.  for example, they were a full point better than Canada (1.7% vs our 2.7% for us & well over 3% for most of Europe)

Now their rate is staying about the same as before while most others are decreasing a fair bit .. especially Canada

Canada is decreasing the death / case rate the most of most places anywhere in the world for the past 10 weeks

Alberta & BC have the best rates of anywhere .. We both must be doing something right in keeping people alive. I'm just not certain what that is exactly as hospitalizations are quite high for both of us

For a long time I only kept track of the 4 largest population provinces (along with several major countries)  .. Started  Sask & Man recently, but have no old data to compare current with

Saskatchewan has a low death rate too.

Yes. I believe it does ... While I don't have the  specifics to calculated current death / case rate, I can give you the overall from the start

It's 1.18% or 1 in 84 cases ... right  there with BC & Alberta as about the best in the world

That's as  calculated from the very start as I don't have past 10 weeks of Sask data to determine current rate

Alberta was the best anywhere in the world  from the gitgo. We started badly  but we have almost caught up with then now despite poorer numbers earlier on

For BC yesterday, 445 Hospital & 157 ICU

Very high, yet death / case rate keeps going down

For Alberta I do not have current - The pages for last 2 days were not links = only cases and deaths in the titles available to me

Was 666 & 146 3 days ago

I haven't seen our hospitialization numbers for a few days....I thought they'd be higher.

Sometimes Alta posts but doesn't link it to open with more data so do not have last 2 days - so it was Weds I posted - also Alta not in yet today

Man is 488      Sask is 269 today for cases

We get nothing on all of weekends .. but numbers are added into the Canada count it seems

That's odd.

Dunno why we get no report on weekends ... seems lazy as all others do post reports  .. although Alta sometimes posts only cases and deaths with no link to look deeper

Edit - Alta did it again - just posted only title with no link on it

2,042 cases in title (virtual tie with last weeks average day)  - no indication of deaths .. at least not on site I use

Maybe you have a better site?
