Something really bad going on here

In retaliation for passports, 1,000s are demoing at hospitals ... like WTF  .. how stupid can they be?

That said, they are not very bright ... but hassling medical people coming and going .. blocking incoming ambulances?

Whata bunch of ignorant selfish goofballs ... then not a surprise considering those on the forums

I can't get a clear answer whether Ontario will exempt recovered COVID patients.

Cases are steadily creeping up here too. Still lower than Alberta, but that can change quickly. We shall see if Ontario's COVID certificate slows the spread until we get third doses in arms.

Following widespread anti-lockdown protests, Australia will end its "covid zero" policy, which Prime Minister Scott Morrison said is not "sustainable" as the Delta variant of COVID-19 spreads in the nation.

There was no weekend daily case information on COVID for the province of Ontario today due to the Labour Day holiday.

Can we come to grips with two facts?

1) "Covid-Zero" isn't a thing in the real life world. It's an impossible ideal. Let's just put that term to bed.

2) This pandemic won't just disappear. It subsides in waves. Natural waves of infections (and deaths) that crest lower each time and eventually (mostly) subside.

The real pandemic ended in February. That was the last wave during which we didn't have widespread vaccinations. Now, most of us are vaccinated or have built up natural immunities and each wave that ripples through our communities ripples a little less.

All the patterns are pretty much the same in other countries and globally, save for different timings and incomplete data. For example, the U.S. is already coming down from their "crest" while Canada is still reaching it.

Government policy has nothing to do with it at this point. The only policies and actions that mattered was getting people vaccinated. Now we just watch waves rising and falling and eventually diminishing.

Covid zero was a pipe dream. Australia admits now it aint sustainable.

Saskatchewan had 389 cases today. Think about that for a second. That is like Alberta getting 1556 daily cases when compared on a per capita basis. They will probably top that any day.

The strength of waves cannot really be known 1. as we apply restrictions period,  and 2. more so in that the restrictions and their timing relative to spread varies

In other words the numbers of each wave are artificially influenced and differently, so cannot be compared under same circumstances .. making it impossible to judge if they would have been  larger or smaller in numbers than another wave

But, we know the hospitalizations, and deaths.
