Right. We actually don't know if they work most always as any tests I have seen have many who were given the drug late in the game as well as early

We can't expect any to work if given after body is ravaged .. that's not a fair test

I didn't mean after the lungs have had undergone permanent damage. I mean a day after catching the virus or a week after. But, early is best to start treatments.

A new study from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in the U.K. shows why it's particularly important to get frequently tested: 78 percent of people who tested positive for COVID-19 showed no symptoms when they get swabbed.

cc

I'm confused on that. Something relevant is missing I think.

First the regular population does not generally get tested unless they have symptoms

Second, if that was the general population it would mean most all people have the virus at that time  .. which of course is not so

Study confirms that people with O type blood that contract COVID-19 have less severe symptoms.

Study ties blood type to COVID-19 risk; O may help, A hurt

A genetic analysis of COVID-19 patients suggests that blood type might influence whether someone develops severe disease.

Scientists who compared the genes of thousands of patients in Europe found that those who had Type A blood were more likely to have severe disease while those with Type O were less likely.

Wednesday's report in the New England Journal of Medicine does not prove a blood type connection, but it does confirm a previous report from China of such a link.

I need to start wearing a mask when I leave the farm.

Wearing a mask cuts own risk of novel coronavirus by 65 percent, experts say

https://www.foxnews.com/health/wearing-mask-cuts-own-risk-novel-coronavirus-65-percent-experts-say">https://www.foxnews.com/health/wearing- ... xperts-say">https://www.foxnews.com/health/wearing-mask-cuts-own-risk-novel-coronavirus-65-percent-experts-say

With many states implementing policies to make face coverings mandatory in both indoor and outdoor spaces, one doctor says that masks also reduce the risk of infection to the wearer by 65 percent.

"We've learned more due to research and additional scientific evidence and now we know [that] not only wearing a mask prevents the person wearing the mask to transmit to others, but wearing the mask protects the person who's wearing it," said Dean Blumberg, chief of pediatric infectious diseases at UC Davis Children's Hospital.

"So the wearer of the mask, even the standard rectangular surgical masks ... will decrease the risk of infection by the person wearing the mask by about 65 percent."

He added that N95 masks do an even better job at protecting people from the virus, but they are in short supply and are needed for healthcare professionals.

Mask I wore at close-to- people times from the gitgo no matter what "science-of-the-moment" was

Agree. I have been wearing mask in hall of condo, don't get in elevator when someone else is there, take if off once I get to car ... on to go in stores etc .. even slip it up when walking outside gets crowded

BTW .. If I am going quickly place to place I just lower it between places .. up when I get there .. but take it right off for driving or walk with no one around

Even when they allow, I'll not be eating or drinking in bar or restaurant .. pub patio? not confident even though "they" say it"should be" OK

This virus spreads like no other .. it's insidious - constantly underestimated. Also science and rules changes so fast as frankly they don't know much  .. So I err on side of caution

It's exploding is several southern states - Just listened to Miami-Dade Mayor - stopping inside of bars & restaurants as of now .. numbers are high and hospitals almost full .. + the lag between getting it and getting ill can be catastrophic for hospitals (today's positives  will make  next weeks hospitalizations  rise if today's positive rate  is too high)

He said their random test positive rate just went over 25% & he want is "closer" to 10  .. feels health system can handle that .. hospitals now 85% full

They want to stay open badly and will as best they can, but want test #s lower before going back to last weeks rules again

"It's a juggling act to keep next weeks hospitalizations within available capacity"

The mayor of Calgary is considering a city ordinance making wearing of masks in public mandatory..

I have been wearing a mask when I leave my house even when Theresa Tam said it was not helpful.

cc

Me too. I didn't listen to her.

I do not wear it driving alone - but always do when people are near and when inside of everywhere people are, have been, or could have been

Have done so from the very start of this thing

I get what they call "regular medical grade" masks at my drugstore

And use almost pure alcohol on hands and even possibly suspicious packages upon each return to car .. and upon return home, alcohol, then soap wash .. and spray mask lightly with  alcohol (which by its nature evaporates very quickly)

History will show that lock downs were the worst decision the West ever made and sucmbags like Fauci, Tam should be held accountable for the devastation their insane quarantines of healthy people have caused.
