I'm not a fan of Fauci or their counterpart in the UK either. However, that twat Tam is a special kind of incompetent.

They've all been inconsistent..

Which is why when Joe Biden says he'll trust the science, it's not very reassuring.

Scientists are a different breed / think in terms very different from leaders and public - as are any specialists in all areas

To "follow" is really stupid. Real leaders never blindly "follow"

Real leaders understand others have different perspectives along with specific knowledges &  "weigh" ANY advice along with other factors from ANY advisors ,.. then they decide course of action

Jo has never been a leader .. T always has been a leader all his life

Yo "follow" is really stupid.

Real leaders understand others have different perspectives along wit hspecific knowledges &  "weigh" ANY advice along with other factors from ANY advisors ,.. then they decide course of action

Delegating authority to doctors, especially ones who are unsure themselves is a dereliction of a leader's responsibilities. Like you said, health officials advise. Real leaders weigh their advice against many other factors.

Yup - That's how things work when done right ^^

Alberta just got their software working and reported last 4 days

Alberta Health reported 2,268 cases since Friday and shattered records for active infections and hospitalizations to start the ninth month of the pandemic.

The province added 581 cases on Friday, 525 on Saturday, 592 on Sunday and 570 on Monday

Looks like Calgary is current culprit - The Edmonton and Calgary zones have nearly the same number of active cases with 2,581 and 2,532, respectively.

This is not good news," Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw said, "this is a problem.

"We are facing a concerning situation and we need to reduce the rate of transmission if we want to avoid more difficult choices in the future."

Alberta also added 15 new deaths caused by the coronavirus between Friday and Monday, including 10 in the Edmonton zone.

Could you imagine how bad the economy and COVID would be in Canada if Theresa Tam had the final say over all government decisions.

I agree with Deena Hinshaw we must slow the spread. However, closing down our hospitality industry a second time will be the final nail in the coffin for the industry.

Denmark plans to cull up to 17 million mink to stop mutated coronavirus

(CNN)Denmark, the world's largest producer of mink furs, plans to cull all mink in the country to contain a mutated form of novel coronavirus.

Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said Wednesday the decision had been made with a "heavy heart," but it was necessary based on the recommendation of health authorities.

"The virus has mutated in mink. The mutated virus has spread to humans," Frederiksen said.

Statens Serum Institut, the Danish authority based in Copenhagen which deals with infectious diseases, had found five cases of the virus in mink farms and 12 examples in humans that showed reduced sensitivity to antibodies, she said. Allowing the virus to spread could potentially limit the effectiveness of future vaccines.

That's scary. The likelihood of not being able to absolutely stop the spread in humans  I would think is great no matter what they do now to the initial source
