Etrade does not appear to be honoring their own margin calls.

I was issued a margin call yesterday that was due by 2:00pm for 8,000.00 in cash and another today for 3,400.00 in cash.

Normally, in both instances they simply sell the appropriate amount of stock on your behalf (like it or not) to cover the call. BUt in this instance on neither day were any shares sold. Interesting and I'm certainly grateful but I'm wondering if this has anything to do with some of the emergency measures put into place which would prevent a brokerage house from fucking their clientele over even further by liquidating at such extreme loses ?

I don't understand this. But, it seems like risky investing. I am a socialist, but I am a super conservative when it comes to investing.

I was thinking that could be it. I've dealt with margin calls in the past and if you ain't got their bread by 1:59pm the day of the call you shit gets sold whether you want to or not.

I'm in serious red territory but I refuse to post more cash into the account and possibly escalate my loses further so I just ignored the demand and waited to see how many shares were sold based on market value both yesterday and today. No trades executed. And based on what they wanted in cash at least 2000 shares would need to have been sold to get me there. Odd.

I have noticed a lot technical glitches in the last couple of weeks. Just today, I had an issue with the Canada Revenue Agency's site.

I have had a lot of risky behaviours in my fifty two years, but I never got risky with money. I was never much of a gambler or a high risk day trader. I have owned some stocks for twenty five years.

It's none of my business, but that seems so risky..

A vaccine is at least a year away. But, if we could get medicine that treat the symptoms with as few side effects as possible out to every pharmacy, we could lift all these restrictions and get people working and markets back on the upswing.
