...so did you actually SELL the stock AFTER it rose in value?



Did it SELL at a higher price than you bought it for?



Or did you even SELL the stock at all?



Valuations mean nothing unless there is a net profit after an actual SALE.



Its the same thing as saying you made money from real estate after its assessed value became higher than what you paid for it. But if you didn't sell the real estate, its meaningless to say that you 'made' money.



So just answer the question.
