I kinda feel like I don't have to with you, you simply liked the meme, thought of me, and posted it. But it so wrong, and every time I see that quote it downright gets my blood a boilin'!

The War of Northern Aggression, was no more, than a despotic government's attempt at roping the Southern States back in by force.

Virginia and other states had FULL right to secede, as Virginia did not trust a one ruling government, it was written in, when signing the Constitution.

Virginia seceded, when the government tried to make them attack their fellow countrymen.

The war was not started over slavery, it was over high taxation upon the South, and all the money going to the Northern states. Other reasons as well.

Slavery was a part, yes, for a lot of reasons "at the time". The North had slaves as well, but they don't tell you that.

If the war was simply over slavery, then the South would of agreed to the original 13th amendment, as proposed to the South to keep them in, which would of made slavery legal across the nation, known as the Corwin amendment. Did they say yes, hell no!!!

It wasn't until the North was losing the war effort, that they pulled an old British trick, by freeing ONLY the slaves in the South, hoping they would revolt against the Southerners. Didn't work! But, it did help with the North's recruitment efforts, as well as support from other nations.

The North came down and burned everything, raped the women, slaughtered children and elderly, plundered, I mean you name it. Meanwhile, the South was trying to survive, so they fought to defend their families. NOT for slavery!

The reason I get pissed at the quote, is because it wasn't what they fought the South for, it was to submit them back into a despotic nation.

I will always support the South!!!
