Shooter didn't have a firearms licence.  Whatever firearms he had (still not released at this time), he wasn't in legal possession of them.

New, legislation would not prevent another attack like this one..



Using the alert system might though.

A Hammonds Plains man accused of illegally possessing and firing several guns, including three high-calibre assault rifles that have not been recovered by police, has been denied bail.



Travis James Terry Laing, 29, was arrested April 9 following an RCMP investigation that began in early January after a report of someone erratically driving a white Ford Crown Victoria with a black hood and roof on Lucasville Road while waving an assault rifle out a window.

Society is crumbling!  





VANCOUVER -- Mounties in Chilliwack are warning members of the public to call 911 if they see a grey Toyota Tacoma pickup truck with B.C. licence plate PA558R.



According to Chilliwack RCMP, the driver of the vehicle "is known to be in possession of firearms and his intention is unknown at this time."



Asked for more detail, police would only say that both they and the driver's family are concerned for his wellbeing.



The truck has a canopy and was last seen in the south end of Columbia Valley, according to an RCMP release. Anyone in that area is asked to "exercise caution" as Mounties respond to what they're calling "an unfolding police incident."
