The most recent victim is a 14 year old girl. Lock downs kill people, but hey, we have to slow the number of young healthy people getting a cough for a week.

QuoteA band councillor for a Saskatchewan First Nation is speaking out after a rash of suicide attempts in the past few weeks on his reserve.

Dustin Ross Fiddler of Waterhen Lake First Nation said a 14-year-old girl recently died by suicide and that he is aware of 10 other recent attempts.

Many programs were cancelled or suspended when the pandemic started. Fiddler said not being able to go out and meet with people also has an effect on people's mental health.

"It brings up a tough question, but it has to be asked: What is more dangerous at the moment? Is it a growing virus or is it our mental health deterioration?"

More collateral damage from lock downs.

Extremely sad consequence of lock downs.

Berry Sweet

I've heard about this...can't just point out the aboriginals, because everyone as a whole are affected by this pandemic, and it happened 100 years ago...they did it then and life was way more boring and harder than today.

People today are a bunch of bitches.  I don't give a shit what happens on any reserve.  These assholes want to be independent, they try stop trains and block ports...and now they want more funds from the government.  Bunch of fuckin morons.

These idiots need to get a clue and stand up to their chiefs and tribe councils...they are the cause of their own demise.  Either stay on the rez and deal with it, or leave and get a life.

She would have killed herself because she was probably constantly raped and starved... that's what they do to children...

Good propaganda post... something to fit your BS narrative.

Once my aunty went for a holiday back to the Philippines and one of her nephews "suicided" but the rumour was that the father killed the 15 yr old and they made it look like a suicide by hanging him.

You cannot trust native communities to tell the truth. They're terrified of each other. And when people expose the truth, they're RACIST.

There are boys attempting suicide on reserves too..

Lock downs of young healthy people are having deadly consequences.

I hear the chief of the reserve that is having a coronavirus outbreak is considering herd immunity while isolating the elders. None of the dozens of cases up there has needed hospitalization or even a visit to a doctor. Its all young people that caught it so far and they are doing fine at home.

Boys are just as much risk of sexual abuse as girls. In fact, probably boys are a greater risk of being raped.

I'd make sure every single "suicide" was actually suicide and not murder.

And I do not for 1 second believe kids are suiciding being locked down. It takes more than that to feel like ending it all.

What the chief is proposing is inevitable for the entire world. Some level of herd immunity WILL happen.

Looks that way.

This term "herd immunity" gets tossed around here a lot  like it has significance

I have never seen it used by science .. only by amateurs

OK. I'll bite. What is it supposed to mean?

"After everyone has contracted it"? ... because that's the only way it could have any significance

.. and even that assumes immunity in those who have had it is permanent which also I've seen no science on

From what I have read, when sixty per cent of the population gets the virus, that is herd immunity. And that is what the game plan the chief of La Loche seems to be after.

cc

So it's not science - It's simply a made up term

Even if it did matter, nowhere is even close to that %  .. nowhere!!

And that further assumes that immunity is permanent -  for which I have also seen no science on

It appears that  those using the term as a positive are really saying "We need everyone to get the virus" .. which would still be dependent on the further unproven item (far as I can find) that immunity is permanent

Unless someone can show me a LOT of scientists explaining in depth  that it's  a good plan  and actually has meaning, I'll continue to view it as a made up amateur "term of convenience" and of zero significance

I read it's possible LA has already achieved some form of herd immunity. I read Stockholm might get there in June.

It aint a bad strategy for that reserve where the population is so young. As long as they isolate the elders.
