This is the longest damned goodbye I have ever seen.

I've been posting on these forums for longer than almost everyone here has.  The difference?  I don't want to be your online, or offline, friend.  Over the years, many posters have developed offline relationships.  I don't do this.  I don't communicate with any single poster, from any forum, in private.  I am a rarity.

You are simply a poster, no different than any other .. well, except you have a childish mentality



None of us carry on off forum or develop relationships

As to long time posting, most of us are similar ... Sorry mel, you have no edge or experience advantage over anyone



Note: You are overdue to tell us again again you were briefly a DV mod .. seems it's some wired comfort to you, so indulge yourself.

Oh yes, Mel was the greatest mod of all time.



He singlehandedly tried to save DV from oblivion.



We should all acknowledge his unsurpassed contributions to our little forum world. What would we do without Mel, where would we all be?

I wouldn't call that a downside to guest posting... more like a downside to assuming the entire world is out for as much notoriety as the next poster. Simply put, they aren't. Guest posting isn't any threat in and of itself. You have a competent moderator and people prepared to let each and every post stand or fail on its own merits, identities soon become a meaningless anachronism. Too many fat-headed people about who rely on identity to get them over the line - there's your problem, right there. Any dunce caught unduly smoking the cock of identity needs to be herded up to the top paddock and chased about by slavering wolverines for a bit.
