I can't believe what I'm seeing South of the border....and like you said it's being encouraged by growing circles of the establishment.

I do not expect  things will get better, rather they appear to be getting worse every day since it started

I'm extremely pessimistic for the future of the entire US .. while Canada was done in more slowly and less dramatically  by govt policy and ineptitude

One of the Tory party candidates, populist Derek Sloan has promised to outlaw ANTIFA as an international terrorist organization. I don't know where the other candidates stand on Antifa.

As Crime Surges, New York Police Union Is Expected To Endorse Trump

The New York City Police Benevolent Association (PBA) is expected to announce their endorsement of President Donald Trump over the weekend, the New York Post reported.

The announcement could come Saturday at the president's country club in Bedminster, New Jersey, according to the report. Other law enforcement groups have endorsed Trump for reelection, including the National Association of Police Organizations, which endorsed the president in July.

The union, which represents 24,000 NYPD officers, didn't endorse a candidate during the 2016 election, the Post reported. Their expected endorsement of Trump comes after a surge in crime and weeks of protests.

And it continues

https://www.foxnews.com/us/portland-riots-911-calls">Over 60 Portland 911 calls go unheeded overnight as police respond to riot

Calls about theft, vandalism, suspicious activity, hit and runs, and burglary were put on hold

On the 80th consecutive night of protests, the Portland Police Bureau declared a riot around midnight Sunday after a crowd of hundreds had blocked traffic for three hours by the Penumbra Kelly Building in the 4700 block of East Burnside Street, trespassed on the closed property and engaged in "violent, tumultuous conduct."

The targeted building is owned by the city and is used by city and county employees, including the Police Bureau.

From midnight to about 2:45 a.m., protesters ignored warnings from police to disperse and began arguing amongst themselves.

Some threw objects at police cars in the parking lot of the building and spray-painted over security cameras. Others shined green lasers at officers' eyes and pelted police with softball-sized "river rocks" and glass bottles.

I will be anything you will see cities like Portland, Seattle, Chicago, NYC, and Minneapolis lose population. Regular working people who have not been bought off by power hungry prog money will say to hell with this shit, sell their houses and get out of those cities run by anarchist nutbars.

The Twilight Of Great American Cities Is Here. Can We Stop It?

https://dailycaller.com/2020/08/15/twilight-american-cities-coronavirus-floyd-protests-kotkin/?utm_source=piano&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2360&pnespid=2eM8s6VKFFKNKL_Gr8RXq8TPZzzeEjp_DxLFWJbg">https://dailycaller.com/2020/08/15/twil ... p_DxLFWJbg">https://dailycaller.com/2020/08/15/twilight-american-cities-coronavirus-floyd-protests-kotkin/?utm_source=piano&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2360&pnespid=2eM8s6VKFFKNKL_Gr8RXq8TPZzzeEjp_DxLFWJbg

In overwhelmingly white cities like Portland, Seattle, San Francisco and Minneapolis, violence has featured white radicals endorsing the extreme agenda of the neo-Marxist Black Lives Matter. In more diverse cities, such as Chicago and New York, protests have devolved into basic thuggery as law enforcement has been curtailed and large portions of the prison population have been released.

The pandemic has shaken the once confident ranks of new urbanists. At a time when even The New York Times is suggesting that density and packed transit lines worsened the contagion, some still embrace theology over data, with some advocating ever greater density, more crowding in cities, and mass transit. Fortunately, people tend to be less theological about their locational choices. According to The New York Times, 420,000 people left New York City between March 1 and May 1. This nearly equals the city's total population increase from 1950 to 2019, according to demographer Wendell Cox.

throughout the past decade, suburbs account for upwards of 80% of metropolitan job growth. This share has likely gotten bigger. Since the pandemic, the fastest drops in job postings have been, outside Hawaii, in the elite regions such as San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Boston and San Jose. Similarly these same cities have all experienced strong declines in rents, even as more affordable, less politically correct cities like Cleveland, St. Petersburg, Indianapolis, Columbus, Reno and Chattanooga have seen healthy increases.

The New Political Equation

Rising disorder in our major cities — paced by a shocking rise in homicides in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York — represents an arguably greater long-term threat. Security is a now hot topic among corporate location executives, notes Jay Garner, head of the Site Selectors Guild. Garner reports that barely 10% of companies want to locate in big city while most prefer suburbs, smaller cities, or rural areas. The top places cited by companies include such Boise, Colorado Springs, Columbus, Kansas City and Indianapolis.

Garner now wonders how attractive "woke" cities like Seattle or Portland or Minneapolis, with their debilitated law enforcement, may be for investors. Certainly they would be concerned about Chicago, where even a rumor concerning police can create protests accompanied by looting on the city's fabled Magnificent Mile.

In the short run, at least, it seems likely that cities under "progressive" rule will continue to lose employers. Amazon, for example, is gradually de-emphasizing Seattle, which seems determined to raise taxes on affluent employees and lessening police protection. The mega-firm is moving more jobs to suburban Redmond and Bellevue. Many long-time Bay Area and greater Los Angeles employers — Bechtel, McKesson, Parsons Engineering, Jacobs, Toyota, Nissan — have relocated predominately to sunbelt suburbs. Besides concerns about taxes and policing, the looming threat of draconian climate policies, has had the effect of driving companies, particularly manufacturers, to other states.

Between vandalism and chaos, environmental idiocy and way higher taxed coming, these prog cities are committing municipal suicide
