The reason why the police often respond with an overwhelming force to protests and other civil disturbances, is because its a standard tactic.



The media will then whine about the use of force.



Overwhelming force pacifies the situation a lot quicker.

And yet other protests in the USA where there was violence and property damage, the police did very little.

In some cases police used excessive force, tear gas, rubber bullets, which some people thought inflamed situations.

 There were also cases of plain clothes law enforcement arresting both those who were legally protesting and 'bystanders' (the press) which is a violation of civil rights.   As Odison points out media coverage painted a narrative and then some became worried (read afraid) about 'optics'.

Did this revisionism happen before or after Soros funded rent a mobs destroyed businesses, attacked bystanders and conquered public buildings and spaces by force? Tell us, when did motherjones say it happened.

According to Antifa protesters who took over the presser, identified by the Post Millennial as "Hailley Nolan and Dustin Ferreira," the previous night their comrades had gone to confront members of  notorious Portland area biker gang the Gypsy Jokers. Police say at least one of the Antifa militants was armed (which they usually are).

The convicted child molester — who at the time of the assault went by James Tubbs — was just two weeks shy of his 18th birthday when he walked into the women's restroom of a Denny's restaurant, grabbed the girl by the throat, and locked her in a stall before proceeding to shove his hand down her pants and sexually assault her.



Because of the heinousness of his crime, prosecutors, politicians, and community members alike desired that he be charged as an adult when he was finally convicted years later. But due to liberal Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón's hard-and-fast rule against trying juveniles as adults, Tubbs avoided a just sentence.
