One of the drugs taken by Donald Trump that he has touted as a potential "cure" for coronavirus was developed using human cells originally obtained from an elective abortion, a practice repeatedly denounced by the president and many of his supporters.

It took 12 years to approve of flu vaccine... It probably won't take that long for one for Covid but it won't be as soon as you hope.



The reason is, if people die of complications from Regeneron antibody cocktail, there will be massive lawsuits. No companies want massive lawsuits.

It doesn't matter if the president called himself a guinea pig or not there have been clinical trials going on with the Regeneron antibody cocktail before he took it and still are..



Yes, normally we take years of slow and small trials for vaccines, but this time we don't have the luxury of time, hence wider and larger samples of stage two and three trials..



None of the vaccines and or treatments are made from things that have not been used before and already approved, sometimes for decades..



The USA will have a vaccine ready for roll-out by mid spring covering enough people by mid summer to reach herd immunity.

Our Premier said Western Australian hard border lockdown was going to be tight until perhaps the 1st of April 2021. We are also getting a $600 discount for electricity.

A senior executive for pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca has confirmed that his company cannot face legal action for any potential side effects caused by its Covid vaccine. Those affected will have no legal recourse.



AstraZeneca is one of 25 pharmaceutical companies worldwide already testing their Covid vaccines on humans, in preparation for injecting hundreds of millions of people. These are flush times for Britain's largest pharmaceutical company, worth something in the order of £70 million. They have just reported bumper profits of $12.6 billion in the last six months alone.



But despite its healthy balance sheet, AstraZeneca is unwilling to be held responsible for any potential side effects of its 'hopeful' vaccine candidate. And it just said officially other companies can produce it with patent rights not enforced = many times more shots produced around the world ASAP



Pfizer also started final testing in July and is expected very soon - It's only downside is that it needs to be transported at -94 degrees Fahrenheit - but with all everyone has achieved so rapidly to date, I'm guessin that will have a fast solution



The Oxford Oxford/AstraZeneca one is a month behind the above  schedule  and I'm guessin they will be shamed into dropping patent rights for the duration of pandemic by Moderna  .. as in fact, all candidates will be placed in the same ethical position



As for Regeneron treatment compound, it's already being shipped out across the US and if other countries get their butts in gear it could be the same for them

I don't understand how people can be disappointed about treatments and removing regulatory red tape to get a vaccine..



This is how we tackle COVID-19, not with lock downs, and to this credit, the president of the USA has been a leader in getting effective treatments and vaccines approved.

It's not just the red tape that is the problem. The FDA extorts millions upon millions out of companies and individuals trying to get new products to market. Like the FCC it is basically a criminal organization that until this pandemic, answered to no one and we can chalk that up to Trumps leadership. Had there been a democrat or some other professional politician in the Whitehouse when this COVID shit hit, we would be waiting years for effective treatments.
