As early as April this year, U.S. President Donald Trump raised the danger of "fraud" taking place if postal balloting was permitted.
Speaking to media at the White House, Trump said "mail- in voting is horrible, it's corrupt."
Then on Aug. 5, the president stated explicitly that "mail-in votes in Nevada and other states will lead to widespread fraud."
The president also identified Arizona as another state where these votes may be cause for concern.
His words from August sound prophetic today as we have witnessed both Arizona and Nevada struggling to come up with a result as of Thursday evening.
Potential fraud by voters voting more than once or even dead people voting has been raised by Trump's lawyers who are seeking intervention in the courts at many levels.
Anecdotal evidence was rife on social media. One showed a video of two postal workers emptying a large container on a city street. Watching it would make any ordinary person believe that something fishy was taking place.
In the video, a passerby asks the two men what they were doing.
On being informed that they were collecting ballots, the exasperated woman expresses alarm: "How come? They have already called my State" to which one of the men wearing masks informs her, "they are postal ballots."
It's unclear what's really going on in that video, but seen in the context of how the entire system had been geared to defeat Donald Trump, it would make anyone suspicious.
It seems those who wanted Trump out of their way were leaving no stone unturned to get rid of him and replace him with former vice-president Joe Biden, who had a cloud of alleged corruption scandals hanging over him, thanks to his son Hunter.
