No, the "yuk" was for the carbon tax.

During an election campaign the sitting PM stated;

"Prime Minister Julia Gillard has said there will not be a tax on carbon while she leads the federal government.

Deputy Prime Minister Wayne Swan last week said if Labor won the August 21 poll, there would not be a carbon tax during its next three years in power.

Ms Gillard seemed to go a step further on Monday.

"There will be no carbon tax under the government I lead," she told Network Ten.

The election was a tie, so in order to form Government Gillard needed to do sweetheart deals with the Greens and Independents. The Greens promised support if she introduced a carbon tax. So, the immediately rescinded her promise to the Australian people so she could gain power, a treachery for which she was never forgiven and for which she was ultimately dethroned.

All the parties in our parliament in Ottawa support carbon pricing..

It's made life here so expensive for families like mine.

At the most recent election, the opposition Labor Party declared that the carbon tax was back on the table, as well as closing down several coal mines in Queensland. Despite leading in polls before the election, they were trounced because Australians are resistant to these climate change alarms, right or wrong. In the wash-up after the election the defeated Labor Party proclaimed that they had heard the voice of the people and carbon taxation was no longer their policy.

Being inveterate liars as demonstrated above when Gillard stabbed us in the back, the legacy of her perfidy still taints the Labor side. Electors have long memories when it comes to politicians lying to them.

There is another election due next year and climate change will again be the lead the issues for both parties. Any suggestion of carbon tax will be the kiss of death for whoever proposes it.

What was your carbon tax? Ours is currently $40 a tonne rising to a staggering $170 a tenne by 2030. Canada wants to be like Venezuela.

Most of their fields are de facto owned by China.

I don't recall now, but it was probably something like you've just described or thereabouts.

The idiot politicians consistently fail to grasp a simple truth.

When you tax a corporation for ANY purpose, said corporation does not pay the tax. It simply adds the additional cost of doing business into the cost of its goods and services and the mug in the street bears the brunt.

Taxing corporations only hurts their customers.

I've read proponents of a carbon tax say that that figure is far too high to be neutral.....it will have a negative affect on living standards.

ANY rise in the cost of living will decrease living standards. Anyone suggesting otherwise are lying.

The federal government is charging GST on our carbon tax that increases annually. A tax on a tax.

There is a cult of personality around him. Besides the erosion of economic vitality he has inflicted on this country, he is also hands down the most corrupt pm we have ever had. No sitting Canadian pm had ever been found guilty of ethics violations. Mr Trudeau has been found guilty twice. No past pm would have gotten away with what he has and continues to get away with.

A statue of Thomas Jefferson — America's third president and the author of the Declaration of Independence was removed Monday from City Hall in New York City, where it stood for nearly two centuries, because Jefferson was a slave owner.

It was Thomas. He fathered six children with his slave Sally Hemings.
