Summer is the best time. Which is, of course, the reason it is intensely busy around all the tourist centres. Edinburgh is especially crazy due to the massive influx of tourists for the Fringe Festival. Book your accommodation early.



If you're interested enough to visit distilleries and want to do a tour, book that as early as possible as well.



You never know, we might catch up for a dram as we will hopefully be there late May, early June, for the Whisky Festival on Islay (Feis Ile).
