They were charged with hate crimes. But, the real culprits are the media and public education system that created this hostile environment.

I cant trust YouTube as a source for anything any more than I can trust Global or the CBC.

Inaccurate, biased, actively disseminating misinformation as fact. May as well call it PropagandaTube. Fomenting hate against the people our libtard overlords decide we should hate. You would necessarily have to be a complete numpty or an imbecile to be giving Susan Wojcicki's petty hate machine any more clicks than was strictly necessary.

it's worse. It's merely a bunch of private posts from anyone who cares to upload

CBS are what now? Call me old fashioned, but YouTurd were a far more reliable source when they WERE private posts by anyone that cared to upload... sometime before the decision circa 2017/16 to partner with the MSM. Admittedly you had to invoke bullshit detectors (and a healthy grain of salt), but like Wikipedia, you knew caveat emptor held sway and that further investigation might be required.

Now it's just blatant propaganda... and unashamedly so. With all dissenting voices silenced and often slung out in the cold.

Kind of like a government I won't name, eh?

Terrible.

Two Ukrainian organizations say an alleged assault involving Ukrainian and Russian supporters following an Edmonton Oilers game last week should be investigated as a hate crime by city police.

In a news release Sunday, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Alberta Provincial Council (UCC-APC) and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – National (UCC) said they are disturbed by an attack that took place outside Rogers Place on March 9.

The release states that following the hockey game, where the 50/50 draw was dedicated to supporting the Ukrainian-Canadian community's humanitarian relief efforts, community members donning Ukrainian flags and other symbols were taking photos outside the arena.

The group was then allegedly "punched, kicked, and grabbed by the neck" by a group of men who were speaking and yelling in Russian.

"This was an attack on a group of people simply posing for a photo. Russia is waging a genocidal war against Ukraine. We were showing our support for Ukraine and we were assaulted because of it," said Orysia Boychuk, president of UCC-APC, who was part of the group.

Alexandra Chyczij, national president of the UCC, said in the release that there has been increasing violence and vandalism against the Ukrainian-Canadian community, institutions and buildings.

"Given that this group of Ukrainians were clearly identified as such by the flags and other symbols they wore, we insist that Edmonton police investigate this assault as a hate crime," she said.

Billing something as a "hate crime" is the equivalent of branding certain sports as "xtreme" - a load of wank expressly intended to wring a few more ergs of indignation out of the observer.

Won't fly in my book, not at all. A crime is a crime. If you break the law, you have committed a crime. You do not get license to make it seem any better or worse by assigning emotion to it and last I checked, beating someone to within an inch of their life qualified for a charge of battery, if not attempted homicide given the severity of the beating.

Consider; only a few weeks ago, Black Lives Matter were screaming their tits off after a bunch of black students got felony charges for whipping white students with USB cables at some school in the US whose name escapes me. The charges were elevated to felony status because they were racially motivated (ie: we can whip these students because their skin colour matches that of our forebears' oppressors) and finally the black activists are seeing just how retarded the idea of a crime's severity being somehow elevated due to differences in skin colours is... when it is their idpol group getting the rough end of the judicial stick.

Meanwhile grifters like Jussie Smoliet get to swan around like martyrs. If anyone deserves being charged with a hate crime, it's someone of that stripe, though I personally would be content that justice had prevailed were he to be held to account for wasting taxpayer resources on the grandstanding he had done over the last few years, as well as the innumerable times he had perjured himself under oath to make it stick. Let him wipe out his fortune defending it if he demands to, by all means... just make sure he is held up as a shining example to others who might seek to harness "hate crime" legislation to their financial and/or political ends.

If I am attacked at random by someone or by a mob, I don't give a fuck if they hate me or just love random violence. I want the animals locked up for a long time.

I wonder what particular hate crime this delightfully vivacious and inoffensive chick could have possibly done...
