I make it a point not to watch American media. It's hard to avoid their horseshit though.

I like watching Laura Ingraham and Tucker Carlson on Fox.

Many do, because they are intelligent, persuasive and extremely talented debaters.

But do not be fooled. They are playing to their audience for the money (and power as other folks have opined).

Just because they preach from a pulpit that coincides with your own views, don't be fooled into thinking they are the only voices of truth and reason.

True journalism presents both sides of an issue. True journalism died a long time ago. What we have now is advocacy for cash.

They have a point of view and they can defend it. I like that.

I admire Tucker Carlson because he is intellectually miles ahead of other "journalists" and his arguments are well constructed. By he is not reporting news. He is promoting and advocating conservative politics.

He has every right to do so, but the reality is he is biased. Bias in journalism is, as we are seeing daily, a dangerous tendency.

How can we believe what he says (or any other opinion journalist) when we KNOW he is trying to recruit you to his political platform.

He is not a reporter. He has a show that you will not see anywhere else.

He claims to be Libertarian but is pushing uber-conservatism  .. The Libertarian shows up only when he conveniently perverts it to promote  vaccine propaganda

He used to do an objective show, refreshing initially. Objectivity  no longer exists & he has become very hard to take and avoidable now

I like his shows on illegal immigration.

I like his shows on illegal immigration.

Yes, he's good on that . . often producing facts that no one else does

What turned me away was an increasing anti-vaxx agenda that now often takes over the show

It's a disappointment as I used to enjoy both him & his show

It's for purely political reasons.

https://tatumreport.com/the-canadian-broadcasting-corporation-released-a-list-of-offensive-terms-people-should-stop-using/">The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation Released A List Of 'Offensive' Terms People Should Stop Using

CBC Ottawa has compiled a new list of words that were analyzed by "anti-racism and language experts." Those compiling the list noted that you're not automatically a bad person if you use these words. The CBC experts said, "Racist etymologies are not obvious in most cases."

Joseph Smith, one of the anti-racist trainers, explained:

"The terms are not all negative, but some terms like "blackmail" and "blacklist" use black in a negative way that lowers the status of black people. "[It] connotes evil, distrust, lack of intelligence, ignorance, a lack beauty — the absence of white."

The problematic terms listed in the article include Ghetto, blackmail gypped, powwow, crippled, blind spot, first-world problem, lame, spirit animal, grandfathered in, tone-deaf, black sheep, tribe, spooky, savage, and to sell someone down the river.

The term "spooky" has negative racial connotations. The term "spook" was used during World War II to refer to black soldiers.

[Well, at least they are not  WHITE-washing terms ] ac_smile

I will never use those words again because CBC said they are offensive.

Given the year is drawing to a close, the BBC traditionally publishes a "Best of..." series of lists of music, books and other artforms.

In its Top Ten popular music albums of 2021, ALL its nomantions are either female or people of colour, including one gay black artist. The majority being by female artists.

Not one white male artist or group nominated.

The same racial and gender bias followed in the books list, although there might have been one white male (it's hard to tell when writers use pseudonyms).

White British taxpayers money being used to foster sexism and racism. Of course, the frightened, limp wristed government simply stands by and allows their voters money to be used to promote hard left socialism.

Their Conservative party is almost as timid as ours. Johnson won't privatize the BBC.
