We're all codependent but Russia might finally leave her "mah, mannn" and shut off the pipelines...not play nice.

That might sound like a simple option.

However, Russia will need to consider the long term impacts of demonstrating that it is unreliable as a commerical partner.

Russia needs the $$$$$ as much as Germany needs the gas.

Russia's problem is that the West has options. Russia does not.

Russia has always been represented in Western media and by Western politicians as some kind of invincible bogey man. Despite its massive military resources, it is still outgunned by NATO and the US both quantatively and qualatively. The West needs a Russian boogeyman to justify its massive military spending.

Russia can throw punches, but it cannot deal a knockout blow.

Russia would win a war with NATO/US right now.... especially with China at it's side.

What I'm referring to is ..  are overflights still allowed (or warned against by EU)

Over it is the shortest route from UK & much of EU to much of Asia .. which is why Malaysia tried it last time

I know that. I'm talking about how stupid Justine's travel advisory is.

Canadians were buying up flights to the Ukraine until we were advised by our government not to.

I think Trudeau issued a similar advisory for Syria when Bashar was waging war with ISIS.

Why the hell would China join Russia?

What's in it for them?

A common enemy.

Common enemies don't necessarily mean common ideal outcomes.

China feeds from Western money. Not Russian.

Yet China and the US have been engaged in a soft war for decades. When there is no benefit to keep trading, it's going to go hot....particularly when the US can't or refuses to pay its debt.

China buys a lot of natural gas from Russia. They finished a big pipeline project between the two countries. That trade would not be affected by anything that happens between Russia and NATO.

During Biden's rare press conference on Wednesday, he suggested that "minor incursion" by Russia into Ukraine might not warrant a strong international response. The White House has since walked back Biden's comments.

The US State Department has ordered family members of US diplomats to evacuate Ukraine.

Biden is considering deploying thousands of American troops, warships, and aircraft into the powderkeg region to deter Russia from executing any advancements.

Biden is an idiot.

This might help understand the comparative military might of Russia vs NATO.

Add to that the technological and qualitative advantage of western military assets, and Russia would need to carefully consider going to war with Europe.

Western politicians and the media love to highlight the military force of Russia and China...keeping us in fear loosens purse strings for military investment and sells newspapers.

But the reality is that Russia is outgunned. It is using Ukraine as leverage to stop NATO encroaching further onto its borders because western governments are probably not going to go to war for a country like Ukraine. Moscow must move soon, because that changes when Ukraine is admitted to NATO.

Ukraine needs to find a solution that includes neutrality with both Russia and the West.

I doubt NATO will take them. Germany especially is backing away. NATO has been successfully working on making itself extinct for a long while
I really tried to warn y\'all in 49  .. G. Orwell

Odinson

NATO is not going to start a full-scale war for a country like Ukraine... Or Estonia... Or Finland.

The whole alliance is stupid.

We got those F-35´s without joining Nato.

And we will get other weapons too without joining anybody.
