Ukraine has agreed to hold peace talks with Russia without preconditions. The peace talks between Kyiv and Moscow will occur on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, near the Pripyat River.

The U.S. government reportedly made Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy an offer that most politicians wouldn't refuse. They offered to evacuate him to a safe third country and he said no.

This is not a fun movie Odi .. It's hard cruel war

Getting serious, and  while I understand his and Russia's motives and reasons behind those motives, I have to question the sanity and degree of consolidated power of Putin for several reasons

1. He unnecessarily promised the Russian people a quick, virtual no Russian casualties takeover .. with little to no resistance .. setting himself up for scorn if it didn't go that way.

Why did he do that? He didn't need to do that if all is as it appears within Russia and within Putin.

Strong Ukraine resistance and great difficulty dislodging them was a no-brainer. Everyone else knew this would not be a simple walk in the part with victory parties before the end of the day as he had promised his people.

2. The damage to him financially following penalties and condemnation from so many counties will be lasting .. The chances of him being trusted ever again to work with are now zero. The previous staus quo is gone now forever. He will now always been seen and dealt with as the pariah he is.

3, Even if he ultimately takes the country, any gains are minimal and losses in stature with Europe +  are great & irreversible

4. Latest blunder  is that he raised the nuclear operators level to severe ... Why? Nuclear is not a factor in any shape or form. .. a totally bonkers move that will even further coalesce other countries against him .. even to the point of increasing their own facilities against him ... a yet another lose-lose self self-destructive  move

When the smoke clears and however it clears, it will be evident to all that this was not a sane move

Russia is going to pay for Putin's miscalculation.

His strategy of forcing NATO to stop expanding beyond Poland will be in tatters.

The world is uniting to punish Putin more severely than he anticipated.

More fallout for Putin

As of today, Western allies, previous a lame group, has come together like never before with several new agreements.

Germany, the previous main stumbling block has upped it's ante today  greatly, sending "real" weaponry, upping its NATO financial commitments and several other items bringing itself  back to an equal member of the group instead of an outsider  bowing to  Russia

I suspect Putin foolishly upping nuclear status with zero to gain and everything to lose may have been the final straw in bringing his divided opposition together and especially getting previously useless Germany strongly back in the game   ..  his final act of self-harm

Now, win or lose in Ukraine he has greatly hurt himself for the short & long term future

Further, he has brought on  a run on his banks as Russians scramble to get their money out while they still can

Germany was considered by some to be on Russia's team in order to get cheap fuels.

Their gesture of "supporting" Ukraine by sending them helmets brought derision and distrust upon them.

Now we can expect a far more robust German military build up.

Is that, in reality, a good thing?

Does anyone seriously think Zelenskyy will still be Ukraine's president three weeks from now. No amount of sanctions will change that.

I dont think they are "discriminating" against them.

Notice how the whole black crowd is right at the door... Its because they cut the line.

You would get nothing but black people if you didnt discriminate.

And once again, 90% of that crowd are men.

They prioritize women with children.
