The TransLink website was hacked a year ago, pushing job postings over to Indeed.

Well, the main TransLink website has now been repaired, and job postings are listed again over at https://www.translink.ca/about-us/careers">https://www.translink.ca/about-us/careers

You should SCROLL down to where you can also click onto each subsidiaries page: CLICK onto Coast Mountain Bus Company; CLICK onto BCRTC; CLICK onto Transit Police

Coast Mountain Bus Company is once again accepting online applications for bus driver trainees! "Conventional" is all full time; "Community" is part time to start. For details about driving positions: https://www.translink.ca/drive">https://www.translink.ca/drive

Hi, prior to Covid, Translink was embarking on a 10 year, near $10 Billion expansion plan. Hiring and training 20 new drivers every 2 weeks (6 weeks paid training). Covid brought that to a grinding halt. Ridership plummeted 90%. The company issued 1097 layoff notices. But then emergency funding came thru from all levels of government, to maintain service. So, no layoffs. Buses drove around near empty summer 2020. The company started canceling some trips with no drivers, instead of covering with overtime.

Ridership has slowly returned to about 60-70% of normal. Emergency funding ends this Dec 31. The company is continually reducing/adjusting service levels where ridership is low, and increasing service where overcrowding is an ongoing issue.

Jan 3/22: 5 bus routes getting increased levels of service, 38 are seeing "slight" reductions in service, and 3 routes remain suspended at this time.

Rumours of 2% of staff not fully vaccinated, and unable to work after Dec 20.

Still got the 10 year plan on the books, but not sure about bus service expansion at this time. The company is continuing with extentions to 2 SkyTrain lines, that take like 5-6 years to build.

Dozens of job postings across all subsidairies and contractors.

If someone lives in Vancouver and is looking for a job, that's a good place to start. CP will be hiring in Vancouver this year too.

Hi, we're doing well; have just caught my first real cold in about 2 years. But otherwise good.

Booked an Alaskan cruise for September, to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Everyone has to be vaccinated and present a negative test before boarding. We have until mid June to change our minds.

Enjoyed 2 nights on Vancouver island at the beginning of the month; and are booked into Summerland in June. Keep getting multiple Vegas offers, but the Mrs isn't ready to do Vegas right now...

We've never been on a cruise.

Does your cruise start in Vancouver?

How long does it take?
