The use of the term 'free speech' in this context is specious, at best.  I'd say it's a marketing ploy by an elite billionaire.

In any case,  incitement, defamation, fraud, obscenity, child pornography, fighting words, and threats, are not protected speech in the US.

They are protected against government regulation unless they meet the criteria of what is not protected.

Private social media companies are not the government, and have no such criteria for what is allowed/disallowed speech.

As a private company they can set whatever standards they like, and if you don't like, your option is to opt out.

Technically that is correct.



Point of all this is to alter a platform that does not allow free speech currently to allow all views  ... As it is now there are none short of the conspiracy sites and even they generally do not allow certain mainstream views so are not free either .. and not an alternative for thinking people in the first place
