Ultimately, I guess it's a political thing when you think about it.



The Left believes insurgency is a threat to the American way of life while the Right believes debauchery is the bigger threat.



I have much praise for middle-of-the-roaders for whom just a tiny bit of turgid rebelliousness is enough to get them by on a bad day.

 Funny you say that....because the right is very much concerned about insurgency.  Debauchery led insurgency.



 There has been a pretty hard shift as well even in what is now considered rebellion.



 This is foreplay in the wrong section though. I know I make it hard to follow the rules sometimes. I'm always DTDP and if youd like to get me alone, we can do that  ac_blush

Listen, Dovey, I know it seems like we stand miles apart on some issues (which, no, we won't debate here) but, in all truth, we're not nearly as far apart as my trollish behaviour would lead you to suppose.



I just like to stir things up, is all.



Even my stance (such as it is) on the expression of gender identity is fluid.



Like Ceedub, I'm no biologist, but I'll venture to agree (I mean, how could I not?) that a woman is an adult human female.



Unlike many, however, I'm not too concerned, personally, about what set of genitals individuals (who are not my significant other) think more closely match their psychology.



Unless sexual intimacy is on the menu, I'm not worried about what's in people's jeans. I tend to focus more on what's in their genes when it comes to biology. A woman is a human adult with homogametic sex chromosomes.



The rest of this kerfuffle belongs properly in the culture war arena.



I have no strong desire to control how other people express their gender identity and I have no desire to engage in cultural skirmishes. You won't change my mind (and neither should you try to do so) and I won't change yours (and neither should I try to do so).



But: we're both humans and we can still go have a coffee at Starbuck's. I've saved enough money for a one-way ticket on Greyhound.

 We agree on this.....my issues have less to do with how people express their gender (I dont really believe in gender) and more to do with cultural and legislative coercion.



 Which is politcal BTW  and I would love to go to third base here in a more appropriate venue  ac_wub
