Quote from: wizer on Today at 10:50:16 AMYou did NOT read that.

No one can read that.

I in fact DID read that. My vision is -4.50 and I had lasik in the left eye, not the right eye. I still wear a corrective lens in the right eye. I wear reading over the counter reading glasses in a 2.5 power. If I slide my contact in my right eye over, with the readers still on,  and get right the fuck up on the screen, I can read 95% of that page. Some of it is too light on the ink.

My eye doctor has said for 10+ years now that I'll be sorry because I'm going to give myself an infection and make myself blind in my right eye. My lasik doc swore to me I would be back to get the other eye done.

Quote from: Aryan on Today at 10:55:58 AMThe important part is highlighted... it's difficult not to notice the irony of a former eye-doctor having such terrible eyesight.

You're not wrong. I've had other eye issues as well and the last 2 years before my retirement and move to Greece I was treated by various Ophthalmologists for a retinal problem. Thankfully I made some good connections during my 30+ years referring numerous patients to those very eye doctors who treated me.

I'm debating whether to return to those same Ophthalmologists when my cataracts are ready to go in about 3-5 years, or just wing it here in Greece with the local guy.

Your vision is not -4.50, your PRESCRIPTION is -4.50. Vision is measured via the Snellen acuity chart and is written as 20/20, 20/40 etc.

Putting a -4.50 contact lens on a post lasik 20/20 eye to read very close makes no sense at all, a negative lens would make near vision indescribably worse. Whatever point you're trying to make you've got it all screwed up.

Wearing a contact lens in an eye other than for what it was prescribed isn't going to cause an eye infection nor make the patient go blind. That's almost as ridiculous as your first statement about how you read better with a -4.50 contact lens on your lasik treated eye.

I too believe if left alone they would handle business the way business needs to be handled. Just like they did in 1967

But until we get the fuck out of this moral therapist position we have put ourselves in with respect to this situation they will, and have every right, to expect something in return for their concessions.

any reasonable person would.

we can "get out of it" by calling a spade a spade.... labelling and treating aipac as a foreign entity.... stop funding their bullshit and put an end to dual citizenship politicians....

Good lord, you're a walking, talking contradiction.

"Yes I agree jews are trouble and I don't want anything to do with them either!"

"But long live Israel! We should keep sending them our tax money and allowing zionists to infiltrate and subvert our government!".

What ?

I interpreted avatar_Biggie Smiles post to mean he doesn't want anything to do with the troublemaking jews who represent a small part of the overall population.

I've always had excellent eye sight. I'm 43 and don't require glasses, hopefully I never will. That said, there is a lot less stigma around them these days and contact lenses are of course an affordable option.

The "troublemakers" are the ultra wealthy ones.

Unless you're a bit myopic (nearsighted) in one eye which will aid your near vision, you'll need reading glasses or at least otc magnifiers within the next few years (if you aren't already wearing them). If you're really tall (which I think you said you are), and you've got long arms, that will buy you some more time as well (you can hold things further away).

You said "stigma" lol. I guess that was an inintended pun.

In your efforts to be a dik, due to your dislike of me, you didnt pay attention and your technical ted of "your vision isnt -4.50, your prescription is" proves it. We all know EXACTLY WTF I'm talking about.

I had lasik on the left eye. The right eye still requires a corrective lens.

So, the 2.5 readers allow me to read. By sliding my contact over, the still near sightedness of the right eye that needs correction makes that eye near sighted again. The near sightedness of the right eye coupled with the readers allow me to read that page.

The infection comment by my eye doctor was made due to the fact that I frequently slide my contact over with my finger.

You didn't explain it that way. Yes, removing the contact from the neaersighted right eye and wearing +2.50 readers on the right eye gives you a net of +7.00 for reading which is like a high powered magnifier or commonly prescribed "low vision aid" for visually handicapped people.

You gain nothing by putting the -4.50 on the left eye, I don't know why you would even come up with such a crazy idea.

I'm not "really tall", around 6'2" or so, which I guess is quite tall, but not basketball player height. I wouldn't want to be much taller because you stand out too much, especially once you get passed the 6'4" mark.

Whew.

Your explanations could be a bit clearer.

I still don't get why you need so much magnification in your right eye, as you have discovered, by doing so you need to hold the reading material a few inches from your eye due to the short vocal length.
