With the rise of ai slop and echo chambers, this will become more common as people retreat from reality and spend all their days on forums with their "new family".

I have mixed feelings about this.

One one hand I already like animals more than people so maybe AI can fill a niche somewhere between them. On another hand I suspect the first wave of AI will just be societal control mechanisms packaged in large language model pseudo-personalities. On the gripping hand if AI is actually real and benevolent it could be a fascinating and exciting transitional period for our entire so-called civilization.

No matter what, AI certainly promises to be an interesting technology to watch; even if it's exposed as a vastly exaggerated tech and collapses under the weight of its own bullshit that too will be interesting to witness.

I was banned *not* for breaking any rules nor threatening @BF or his forum; I didn't even poast to the thread in which poasting will get ya banned (did that once a while back however it doesn't count since I effectively banned myself). I got banned merely for not being obsequious enough.

Lily allegedly had her Report button privileges revoked and a screenshot of a list of her Reports to @BF was poasted by @BF himself; I don't know if she experienced any other shenanigans above and beyond that.

I figure that Lily report button thing was just a troll to generate post traffic which it did. Regardless of whether it was authentic, she didn't leave because of that. Must have been something serious, she basically lived there.

I notice Lily disappeared from BF about the same time I did, as did Flynn. I wonder if they left for the same reason I did, which is because member profiles and posting privileges were getting fucked around with for no valid reason.

Maybe it wasn't so much the removal of the Report button that irked her as the poasted screenshot that confirmed what pretty much everyone already suspected (despite Lily's denials): that she Reported stuff *a lot*? Of course she denied the "revelation" bothered her but she would, wouldn't she. Leaving BF afterward seems to indicate otherwise, at least to me.

I'm inclined to believe the report fiasco was authentic. only because I was an administrator at SG and it was a hell on earth experience dealing with that whiny, demanding and bipolar pig. My inbox looked very similar to the screen shot was purportedly  his inbox with literally hundreds of petty complaints about pretty much everything.

To give you an example of the shit I dealt with at SG I remember this one time she had caught deport_liberals viewing her profile through the who's online listing. She took a screen shot and forwarded it to me as proof she was being harassed and stalked by him. Now the original email came to me at a time when I happened to not be logged in. Let's say for the sake of argument it was at 3pm on a Monday.

So the first whiny and borderline hysterical email complaint went something like "hey, just letting you know that this stalker is still after me, why is he viewing my profile, can you do something about this  -- with screen shot presented as exhibit A.

Now if memory serves I think it was about 5 or maybe 6pm that I finally logged in that day so there was a window of 2 or 3 hours where she received no response.

Needless to say that when I finally did log in I was treated to a deluge of emails, with each one being increasingly more hostile, demanding, frantic and belligerent than the previous and pretty much followed a consistent pattern of 1 every 10 to 15 minutes. With the last one culminating in a "Fuck you, you don't care, so I am leaving the internet forever" again.

I literally remember just logging back off immediately and hoping that she didn't catch me in the who's online listing for the brief 10 to 20 minutes it took me to read through all of her hysterical nonsense.

of course, that action only kicked the can down the road for as soon as I logged in again I was once again treated to another barrage of insanity for daring to think I could simply log off without responding to her crisis situation.

Instead of admitting he's been fucking up, showing a little contrition, and acting reasonably to fix his forum @BF has decided to embrace his bucket-headed delusions and adopt the "Random Bullshit: GO!" strategy moving forward. Randomly switching things on and off, lashing out at members in seemingly arbitrary and ridiculous ways, throwing tantrums, and in general being a complete and total asshat.

If he's tired of owning/running a forum he could just pull the plug and be done with it but no, he'd rather be a psychopath and spend the forum's last days fucking with the remaining membership for no reason other than @BF's own twisted entertainment.

Maybe that's what the people still there like, or want.
I dunno.

I may be eccentric and even weird sometimes but I'm not messed-up enough in the head to understand why people enjoy some of the messed-up things they seek out... and frankly I don't even want to try putting myself in that headspace; it looks uncomfortable as fuck.
