Flaming =/= Trolling

Back in the day I often had "Trollsbane" as part of my nym because the only demographic flamers liked to insult more than each other was trolls.

I know, I know... definitions evolve and that word 'flaming' does not mean what you think it means (inconceivable!) but I felt I had to throw that out there just to put it on the record. Again. LoL

You are not the first person to defend flaming.

Yeah, but almost all of them suck at it.
Grievances, complaints, drama, tribalism, and propaganda delivered in whichever voice they think will get them the most clicks (providing of course they haven't simply been paid up front to push a narrative).

I was like that on the old Asian forums and continued when I joined DV. That changed after it folded and VF picked up all it's refugees.

There was and still is a creepy little twerp of a man(Edweird) who lives on that forum 24/7/365. He gets his sick jollies contacting people's employers, giving horrible reviews of their businesses and destroying careers. It got so bad at VF with Eddie taking shit offline that a dozen or so of us left and founded the original version of this forum.

What we do here is for entertainment. None of us were going to risk our livelihoods over this goofiness. VF was a busy forum in 2012, but it never recovered from the owner's refusal to ban somebody who continuously broke basic forum etiquette.

My point here is that I've seen what the kind of threats Martini made can do. I take it pretty seriously.

The RCMP have visited Eddie the chug at his tiny one bedroom apartment more than once for his online activities.

I always did it for laughs.  Trolling & doxxing didn't do it for me.  I did flame matches to amuse me because I knew all the shit was rigged as a popularity contest.  Who gives a fuck?  Like, render unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar.  And so let people who need clicks & likes & reps & votes & cliques & attention... get all that if they want.  I don't want.  Destroying irl lives is not me.  Sad that some find any kind of unkind self reward in cheating at games or attempting to destroy real lives but then maybe these people are in a similar vein as Dexter from Dexter?  They must eliminate.  So they try to kill in a way that satisfies their psychopathic urge to kill without actually killing as in doxxing or threatining to out personal info?  Just my stab in the dark here.  And it is dark.
Are unhinged peeps unhinged?  YEAH.  It would seem so.

Me and a group of internet scientists just conducted an experiment to see if the "Neg Effect" was still a thing at BF.

A person was chosen at random and given a fuckload of negs to see if, a. they ignored it because emoties are irrelevant to human happiness and completely meaningless if you have a real life and are not a forum barnacle, or b. they immediately started a thread to announce they had received some big bad emoties confirming that the emoties had caused massive emotional damage requiring the person to textually screech out multiple posts while maintaining that the negs did not emotionally effect them.

The result was...B.
