This generation, the WW2 generation....the Greatest Generation, was no joke.

But their love stories with their husbands would be court cases and statutory rape charges today.

My grandma's first and only true love was 23 when they met...and a month later they eloped. Ran away got married.

She was 16 fucking years old!!

She would tell me stories about how poor they were. That they ate warmed up ketchup out of coffee mugs like tomatoe soup with toast and how these were the happiest days of her life.

And how he worked 12, 14 hours days and walked home everyday and everyday he would go through feild and pick wild flowers for her. Everyday.

Then he got drafted. Grandma said it wasn't really a draft because men were signing up willingly and even boys under 18 were lying about their age so they could fight because the country was outraged about Pearl Harbor.

Yep. If her statutory rapist hubby didnt get killed by nazis...i wouldn't even be here. Or id just exist as a completely different person.

I've got a bunch of old pics like that. Since I was the closest grandkid to both my grandparents, I wound up with the memories.

I had old clothes from the 1920s....old dresses from the the 1905 to 1910 era.

The old dresses kind just....dissolved lol. They were so delicate. I wish I had a way to preserve them. I would be wearing it if I could.

I do have old costume jewelry from the 1920s still. I have some from the 50s as well. It was all grandma's and great grandmas stuff I tried hard to keep the clothes but they just started falling apart.

Yea that linen gets dry and brittle. Some of the cotton stuff too. I think its because of the hard core detergents they used maybe. My wife and I were in the basement the other day, going through a bunch of stuff. My mom purged all her stuff to us before she and my step dad moved to Florida. There's some ancient napkins I found. They're white with some type of embroidery on them. They look brand new, surprisingly. I bet they were my great grandmas. She died in 1979.

I really need to throw some of that shit away because none of the kids want it.

Grandmas name was Delores Irene, shes to the right. Behind her to the left is my great aunt, her sister Marie, next to her on the left is my great grandmother Mary, next to her on the far left is her oldest sister Agnes.

The kid is my aunt Patsy. Shes 80 something right now and pretty hard on the alcohol. She gets shit faced drunk and starts posting shit on Facebook like its a Google search bar  :crampe:

Anyway these were my Rosie's ♡  I love old photos.  I wish I was sure what year this was.....but im not. Maybe mid..late 40s.

Everyone always looked so serious in photos back then but you can see how fiesty my grandma looks. And she was lol.
What a lovely photo Dove.....I love old black and white photos.

Quote from: deadskinmask on Today at 05:27:59 AMdid you get the covid vax? theres no telling what that shit did to you.... it sure as shit didn't do "what it was advertized to do".... maybe you ARE part jew now.... AND part nanobot....

Fuck no.  I haven't had any kind of vaccine since I got a tetanus shot when I was 13, and I'm still pissed about that one. And the Covid jabs were so rushed, I don't see how anyone could have trusted them. We won't know for years what those jabs did to people.

I believe gender dysphoria exists, but it is very rare.....most times young men need to speak to a professional not puberty blockers and mutilating their bodies.

I've been going through my mans parents stuff and getting rid of A LOT (at his will. If i see something that could be important I show it to him).

I found a lot cool vintage stuff like an old General Electric manicure thing. All the parts. Never used.  Some cool old bowls and plates I washed and have brought up for use.

Im redoing the old furniture. I just did an old humidor cabinet thing. I didnt know what this thing even was. I was using it as a stand and thought it was interesting because it opens and its lined with copper or some sort of metal. We didnt know wtf it was.

So knocked the tacky wood backing off, sanded it, filled in the damaged parts with wood filler, washed it off really good with mineral spirits and painted it black and put new hardware on it.

Then after I did that I found out its for storing cigars lol

I put essential oils and scented wax in it

 Forgot I have a picture

I cannot wait to tear out this ugly ass fucking carpet. We are getting close to getting the floors done. I got the flooring picked out and everything.  We are replacing the windows first though because the insulation around them SUCKS.

Quote from: Lokmar on Today at 01:42:26 PMI believe 100% there were death camps. Now I did BEFORE I met the guy with the camp tattoo on his forearm but I had zero doubts after that. He wasnt even a jew BTW.

seems weird.... so many "survivors" picked up as babies and picked up as adults.... some travelled from "death camp to death camp".... some "survivors" picked up at the beginning.... some picked up towards the end.... however NONE of their tattoos have 7 digits.... NONE.... also seems weird that a "gas chamber" would have wooden doors and glass windows.... and toilet and shower fixtures.... and holes on the roof instead of a proper ventilation system.... extremely inefficient of such an efficient race of ppl.... almost like these were "delousing stations" rather than "gas chambers"....

I just put in a new floor in my living room and hall last summer. Got a hard floor and ripped out all the old wall to wall carpet.  I love it.  It's so much easier to keep clean and it seems like there's less dust floating around.
