The wild turkeys in your area is due to a farmer who raised turkeys....they all got loose...it happened right when I left..about 2005...abd since then have multiplied and caused a nuisance.

That's not correct.  People have been trying to introduce these stupid birds into BC for over 100 years (don't ask me why), and this region just so happens to be an area where they thrive for some reason.  Flocks have also wandered up from the US.

The real question is why there's limits to hunting these nuisance birds.  Hunters should be able to shoot as many as they want...  They are nothing but a nuisance, shit all over the place, wander around on the highways, and aren't even native to the region.

Even my neighbour said he'd be happy if I shot every single one that comes onto our properties, and bury them all in a big hole in the ground.  Nobody here likes those brain-dead shitting machines known as Wild Turkey's.

You should kill the turkeys and the sheep and eat them! You could also use the wool to make yourself a nice sweater.

I wish we had wild turkeys here. In season, or not, if I saw them on my property, they will end up on the supper table.

They really are a nuisance.  Some here say they taste too 'gamey' and won't eat them.  But I'm sure others do.  They're all over the fucking place here, but I haven't cooked one up yet.

I doubt anyone here would care, other than conservation officers of course, if someone hunted them here out of season.  Gunshots, bear bangers, and fireworks are all fairly common noises here, and nobody really cares too much about that.

The fucking things can cause quite a bit of damage to cars when they get hit wandering onto the highway.  They truly are a dumb bird.  They shit all over my yard when they eat the grass on my lawn and the dirt on my driveway.  They walk around on my walk-around veranda and shit all over it.

Dunno but birds like me.

Ozzie birds are pretty colourful.  Our birds here, simply due to the cold winters, just don't have that kind of colour.  None of the wild variety here would ever come up to a human either, even if you held out food.  They fear the human.  Of course, there are exceptions like socialized Geese, who just don't give a fuck...

Except for Peafowl.  How the fuck that colourful large bird (Native to India if I'm not mistaken) can live through our winters I don't know, but they can!
