Here's a pic of my recent trip into the Valhalla's, a mountain range not far from where I live.  When I say you literally have the entire place to yourself, I mean it.

Yep.  I'm sure I'll regret not getting a Toyota instead, but so far it has been good.

I would have preferred a Toyota Hilux Dual Cab back at the time, but Ford had an end of year run out special on all the XLS's that didn't sell because most people here want an XLT at a minimum or a Raptor.

The difference between an XLS and XLT are mostly cosmetic. Same 3.2 litre diesel, mostly the same creature comforts, and I saved 5k on the stock price, plus got window tinting, tub liner, and tonneau cover for free (they had to pay third parties for that. It wasn't a Ford thing).

And the dual cab Ranger shit all over the Hilux's towing capacity.

I'm happy with it so far... very reliable.

But my model was before mandatory Adblue came in, so extra happy about dodging that bullfuckingshit.

Ya, the more emissions related crap you can avoid, the better.

A quick Google shows me that F150's are soon coming to Oz.  I didn't realize that was happening.  I wonder how popular a full sized North American truck will be there.

They've been here for numerous decades... F100's through the late 60's and 70's.

Dodge Rams have made some quick headway over the last few covid years because Landcruisers are now 30-40% more dear, in short supply with year long waiting lists, and people with a year or two old unit have been able to sell them for current year costs sight unseen.

And from what my boss has told me operating a fleet of Toyota's some old, many late model, replacement parts on Toyota's have doubled and the costs to insure Toyota's, at least that.

The really regional areas can handle full size pick ups here... but the infrastructure and design of parking lots is still archaic in traffic planning. None of those American ute drivers can park in most normal places... but it's not stopping people from buying them..
