 Hopefully it will hatch and go towards the pond. I've never seen a painted turtle lay eggs before.



 There are some really fucked up kids who live in this area I'm in. I'm not in a "trailor park" per say...its like a camp ground.  It's cheap to live here so it attracts the low income crowd. I'm NOT saying that to be classist at all. But it has attracted undesirable low income people(definately not all....but this one family is SO problematic). It's not entirely the kids fault.....their mother is completely useless.  I've been told shes a drug user(and it looks correct to me based on what I've seen). The kids have been seen abusing animals. We have a lot of local cats (hence how I fell into rescuing cats and kittens) and theyve targeted the cats. Theyve been seen beating their dog. The dog gets loose all the time. It's a mess. And yes...CPS has been involved 4 times. 4. Theyve done NOTHING.



 I shared that because that's my biggest worry with the turtle egg. I'm worried those kids will find it and fuck with it and kill it. Because that turtle is right on the side of the road laying them and it's very visable.



 It IS pretty much right across from my house and I'm always moving around and outside so I see everything. I thought about putting a barrier around it so when it hatches it wont crawl into the road, but go the opposite direction towards the pond.....but that would call attention to it and those little fuckers would for sure find it.

 I'm gonna look up how long until they hatch....that egg was just laid an hour or so ago....and do my best to guard it.

There was a neighbor here who would trap squirrels and then dump them off miles away because they did not want them in their garden, they would also bang pots and pans and scare away the birds and yell if they saw you feeding them.



I fed the crows and days later they all gathered on that neighbors lawn and tore it the fuck up, because crows remember people and they know who the bird lovers are and who the bird haters are.



few days later a flock of geese tore up their lawn a second time and shit all over it.



they are no longer here, and the rest of the neighbors have no problem if you have bird feeders ect.

These people are horrible. One of the last kittens I rescued was literally a newborn we found on the side of this same road. He was nearly dead.



 We picked him up, cleaned him and looked EVERYWHERE for mom and littermates and never found any of them. Just this lone newborn kitten.



 Just a few months ago I heard that these kids found a feral cat nest, ran out the mother and were running around with these poor kittens. So the rest of this litter probably died. It infuriates me.  Like I said....its really not the kids fault. Yet. If something doesnt intervene these kids are gonna be serial killers.



 Here is the kitten i saved up until adoption day.  We named him Baccus because he loved Type O Negative....seriously lol.  We almost ended up keeping him because when he got bigger he started having seizures....the vet diagnosed him with feline epilepsy. No FIV though, thankfully. But still not "adoptable". A vet tech asked if she could adopt him though(everyone at the vet fell in love with him) so she has him now.

 He still had his umbilical cord. The poor guy was near death. He was dehydrated. I had to give him fluid under the skin and feed him with a syringe. I really was expecting him to fade... we kept pep talking him and telling him how awesome house cat life is

And adoption day. I was literally crying when taking this picture and he was very concerned....which made my 16 year old cry

 She actually loved the name we had for him and kept it. She said she loves wine so it fits lol. This kitten just broke our hearts. The whole house missed him. He was rough to get over for sure.



 But we know he is well taken care of, spoiled rotten and loved. I do get occasionally updates and I love it.

 I've taken in several kittens, but he is the youngest I've ever taken in who didnt have a momma.



 So we had to raise him ourselves  ac_crying  everynight I fell asleep hoping he would still be alive when we got up to feed him. Ive had a few faders(newborn kittens who just pass away for no known reason). He was awesome and survived.



 He is a tough cat.
